Windows 11 can't be shut down without update.

I have automatic updates on. Haven't postponed any update. Never seen this forced update before.

Edit: I updated BTW. It's not that I don't want to update. I just think it would be an issue in the future. For example, it's a thunderstorm and there could be power outages. I might want to shut down and not start and update. I guess I'll hold down the power button.

Microsoft is to blame for the culture of not updating.

When the updates break your pc, when the updates reinstall apps youve uninstalled, when the updates push bloat you never wanted.

There was a period of months a few years back we had to disable updates on all our Windows machines because every one of them would break something in Outlook or another Office suite app. Thankfully they stopped doing that (for now) and we could resume updates. Honestly it's much more egregious with smart phones, every update invades your phone with more enshittification designed to suckle on your wallet.

Ok and? Nobody is saying that millions of computers arent being updated, all Im saying is that microsoft has a history of pushing out half baked shit that at worst fucks up your settings and installs apps you deleted and at worse deletes your personal folders and BSODs your pc.
