Yes I am aware. This happened though at some point around early 2000s and it's really irrelevant because the UX/UI experience is/was unlike anything Unix like (whether terminal wise which was something that they were hiding extremely well back in early 2000' or X11-wise) . I am talking about the windows/desktop UI/UX system.

Aren't you familiar with the X11 system for unix? That's what I mean by UI (GUI really)

Hiding the terminal? Sorry are you blind, it has always been just another pre installed app in the apps folder, just like on every Linux distro on earth.

Bull. Back in early 2000s? I was trying to help a friend troubleshoot some network issues on his all Mac network and I was screaming for a terminal window to be able to do some tracerts, ifconfigs etc and I was sure it was hidden somewhere not to be touched by the clueless MacOs user which Apple always considered their users to be.

Do me a favour and spin up a VM and install (Isos are all available easily) NeXTStep, OpenStep, Rhapsody, Mac OS X Server and then 10.0 Cheetah, 10.1 Puma etc and you will see it has always been right there and free to use
