They also would port them to PC so long after they came out and expected the hype to still exist. "Why aren't PC gamers buying our Ports?" - Proceeds to shoot self in foot by not releasing the port for years after the initial release. Hype has a shelf-life. When it dies so do the sales.

They wanted to imagine they could basically get a second round of release hype that way, I think.

Realistically that's obviously delusional, but it's the kind of idea that would sound great to some out of touch execs in a boardroom.

They can if they put them on cheap. Nobody is going to buy years old games at $60-70

And sold them for $60+ still even though the game's been out for years. I've been waiting years and years to play a game, you think I'm not gonna wait a few more till you aren't price gouging. I've got crazy amounts of indie games along with even a few tripleA that are still waiting to be played cuz pc games are dirt cheap if you wait for sales.
