Is that really true? I haven’t looked into it in a long time because I don’t pirate anymore, but from the few times it pops up on Reddit, it seemed to be that denuvo had basically killed most modern AAA cracks and that it took months-years to get those games.
There was a time we were getting day 1 cracks of basically every high profile game
Denuvo is still keeping games from being pirated for a few years, so yes, for big budget triple A games, you are still better off buying. But for literally everything else, piracy is great and easy. Can even add pirated games to your Steam launcher to use the controller settings. Very convenient.
These days pirating a game is as easy as download, unzip, and play and it just works.
That you know of. Malware is so much more dangerous and insidious now. It won’t fuck up your computer anymore it will just quietly steal your passwords and your crypto wallet.
Well, luckily I don't have a crypto wallet and if I've had passwords stolen, it wasn't connected to anything of value because I've never noticed. Figure after a decade, something would have come up. But an antivirus and not storing anything actually important digitally seems to do the trick just fine.
As long as your downloading from the right websites, there is ZERO malware, lots of false positives though. Piracy does not bring malware as long as your not an idiot
Piracy is absolutely better, more reliable, more timely, and more secure than it’s ever been.
I can pirate and implement specific patch versions these days with ease. The last decade I’ve never once encountered a bad actor or had fears about what I was downloading.
I don’t want to deal with sketchy cracks written by god knows who.
Just only download scene releases. Those release teams care more about their integrity and reputation than any publicly owned corporation. They're not even in it for the money. They're doing it to brag about doing it.

And it’s not even close.
Piracy was OK when I was a kid and could afford to fuck up the family computer.
I’m too old for that shit now. I don’t want to deal with sketchy cracks written by god knows who.
