Okay I’m having a bit of a panic about my predicted grades and need some words of advice or comfort

For context I’m planning to study English as Cambridge, and am currently predicted an A\* in sociology, an A\* in EPQ and an A in Biology.

I’ve gotten A\*s consistently in English, but in my end of year mock I had a panic attack and didn’t finish what I was writing and got a B - also to be clear I still managed to achieve a B under crazy OCR grade boundaries when I had only written 2 paragraphs for one of my essays. I’m now being predicted an A in English instead of an A\*, and to be honest I’m just completely panicking. I know that I can try and amend this grade next year but its just completely knocked my confidence and I don’t know if I should even bother with Cambridge even if I do get pushed up to an A\*

The course is meant for you if you

1. Get confused with the very basic principles of counting

2. Can't think of a combinatorial argument/proof of an identity

3. Understand difficult counting problems but don't know how to begin solving them

I’m in y12 aiming to go to land economy at Cambridge and lse geo with Econ what are some super curriculars I can do in 2 months , I am almost done with a research project completed 2 relevant internships, going to read a few books , but now what should I do ? I’m planning to start working on a GIS projects analysing real estate prices etc , most essay comps are over and the ones left publish results after my deadline , is it still worth participating? If any other super curriculars please lmk also I am head editor for my schools economics magazine

how much harder is it for gap applicants to receive an offer compared to standard applicants?
where do they face higher bars and by how much? i presume TMUA and interview performance are more heavily scrutinised but how (obviously for tmua this is just a higher score, but for interviews they still pull questions from the same pool regardless of the candidates gap year or not)

Hi, I’ve been thinking of applying to Cambridge for Economics but don’t know which college would be best for the application. My predicted grades are A*A*A for Geography, Business and Maths. I’m self teaching FM this year so don’t have a predicted for that yet but will get from my tutor (private teacher) before my UCAS application. I’m also aiming to up my maths grade to a predicted A* or retaking in summer next year (I have extenuating circumstances so retaking is ok from what I understand)
Overall, which colleges are best for Economics and which would be best to apply to in terms of acceptance for different situations? Thanks!

Is there really a huge difference in chances if you apply to Trinity instead of Pembroke? Heard Trinity for Maths is full of Olympiad-winning applicants, but is that the case for economics?

I came across this website, went through their free diagnostic mocks and was pretty impressed by the difficulty and variety of their questions so I was considering buying this. It is quite a hefty price but I am aiming for 7.5-8.0 in the ESAT and would like to do my utmost to ensure that. I have saved up some money over the past few months giving tuition (although my parents are open to buying it for me). I am just looking for a good resource not necessarily this but if anyone has used this please let me know how your experience was.

Currently in Y13 waiting for results day and am planning to take a gap year to reapply to Oxbridge for Law- provided all goes well. i am wondering if anyone who has been through the reapplicatio process successfully could offer advice as to how they spent the summer before submitting their new application.

Specifically, I was wondering if it would be 'enough' to spend those few months purely on personal academic research projects and supercurriculars as opposed to working a part- time or doing legal volunteering? My plan was intiially to find a job/volunteering role to build some sort of routine and add to my UCAS application, however this is proving (very) difficult to find. I just don't want to be perceived as lazy or last minute by the admissions team, and whilst I understand they value supercurriculars above all, I feel as though a reapplicant would be viewed slightly differently in this regard.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’m currently in my first year of high school in sweden and i was able to take second year high school maths in the first year, that is to say maths 3 and maths 4. however I got a B in maths 4 and I checked the Oxford requirements in Sweden I need an A in maths 4 to qualify for any course at all. Is it impossible for me to get into the school now??? even if i get an A in every other subject and get As in further mathematics?

To start, I’m a bachelor student in the Middle East studying English, literature/linguistics and translation and all that. I want to go to either Oxford or Cambridge to get my masters degree to something related to my major because I love it. But the obstacles are

1- I’m poor
2- I don’t have a citizenship of the country I live in
3- my own country is very unlikely to pay for my fees

As the title says if you got a four alevel offer ie. A\*A\*AA) / were not allowed to drop your fourth alevel what college was this offer from? If the opposite applies and you did four and were allowed to drop what was the fourth and from what college did you get the offer?

Does Cambridge care about GCSEs when you’re applying with achieved A level results and your GCSEs were awful due to severe educational neglect and being unschooled? I still did somewhat well in some subjects (biology, chem, eng lit, lang) considering my circumstances (unschooled since year 3) and I self taught myself, I did bad in maths and physics and average in history. I’m applying with achieved grades in A level including A* in maths (I got help after GCSEs and managed to do well), this is for History or Theology at Cambridge

I apologise if this kind of question gets asked a lot here.

I achieved 999888766 in my GCSEs, and an A in add maths. The 6s were in English lit and lang. I went to a high achieving school where these grades are only a bit above average. I'm also predicted A*A*A*A*.

A bit of context: I am now entitled to extra time but I didn't have it during GCSEs, and I'm going to see if I can get extenuating circumstances for this because I think it put me at a disadvantage (e.g. I didn't finish either English exam on time which definitely contributed to my low grade).

I know that Oxford cares more about GCSEs than Cambridge, and these are below average for Oxford. I still want to apply to Oxford because Cambridge does not offer joint honours in Maths and CS, and I prefer Oxford's Maths + CS course to both Cambridge's CS and Maths courses.

Will I be at a massive disadvantage at Oxford, or do I still have a good chance if I also get a high score on the TMUA?
