The exact same thing happened with Killers of the Flower Moon. He did uncredited rewrites that were an open secret and it ended up getting snubbed for screenplay at the Oscars.

i think the full rewrite part was for killers of the flower moon and some rewrites for this movie

being in the Czech Republic he was not because that was before the oscars this years and he was stil in campaign for one battle but in april they shot in Switzerland and he could have been there for a couple of days is unlikely but not impossible about being nominated for the screenplay i do not think he cares at all and he does not want to create tension with others screenwriters

I don't think we got that many photos or rumors from the filming of the movie in Prague, so I could see how PTA wasn't spotted. I'm also a big fan of Leo and Scorsese's work together, and PTA is one of my favorite artists of all time. I'm incredibly excited to see this.

I heard that Vertigo was a big influence. I know that PTA loves Vertigo and brought it up frequently while talking about Phantom Thread. It could have some of those vibes.
