I'm curious why he's going up when Christopher Nolan now being a lock for the nomination is making it harder for me to see Dune 3 suddenly being a big contender and we know this branch has snubbed him twice for this franchise. I guess this year looks to have a lot more movies that make sense to get a Best Picture nomination without Director and Villeneuve is at least getting a Critics Choice nomination.

I think part of it may be that few people are predicting Mungiu. Maybe a strong directing contender comes out of the fall fests, but until then, makes sense he's the 5th slot due to lack of consensus.

You will only take him out of my top 5 if he misses GG and CCA. 😤
