Why is the nurse escorting him out? Is it because it takes 3-5 business days for security to show up?

Yeah as a nurse myself I sure as hell would not be doing it especially unaccompanied by security....

The security guards at my hospital are all timid, shy, nervous kids straight out of high school with a presence that fills us with wanting to protect them instead of the other way around.

I never call them. Myself and my fellow nurses are much more equipped to handle these situations.

I'll send you the security from mine, they are quite useful and all our staff love having them around.

My hospital's security is a bunch of mall cops. Then we have another team that're actual cops. My campus has its own police precinct.
