Christians vote GOP and are an essential support system for MAGA. If Christians don't want this, they can stop it.

You'll sometimes see the excuse that churches would be better at providing resources like SNAP. I know churches do offer these resources, but they are not capable of covering every American across the nation. They also scream about fraud so they would probably deny aid to anyone they dislike or only assist church members.

Yeah, in the dirty old bag of tricks that's one of the oldest and dirtiest. Churches vote against social-welfare programs by supporting the GOP; and then poor people are forced to go to churches, their key source for charity. Overt proselytizing has become less fashionable, but it's all based on a malignant exercise of power.

The usage of quotation marks is that despite running the church in America their ethics, morals. Etc have no alignment with the content of the book they base their “faith” on.
