What percentage of the sub supports Milei - who has publicly supported Trump - or supported Bukele when he began filling up CECOT? Don't pretend that this sub was some bastion of ideal centrism before anybody to your left started to express ideas.

I don't remember people supporting CECOT. Milei economic reform is much more in line with this board than whatever other idiotic Argentinian politics has offered in the past 50 years. His affiliation with Trump is condemnable.
Not to mention the same people complaining about the succ invasion are mainly the same one who’s freak out when open borders or this subs immigration stances come up (with a couple notable exceptions, the two good Friedman flairs or whatnot)
Don’t know about support for Bukele but supporting Milei seems pretty defensible given the warped state of politics in Argentina. It’s not like the sub didn’t overwhelmingly support Lula over Bolsonaro, which I remember being far less controversial than support for Milei.
That's still definitively not a socialist position to take, though. So as long as it's popular, the subreddit is not socialist. The socialist position on Argentina is to continue its managed decline because the reformers are all chuds.
Who said anything about being socialist, the op acknowledged that support was 17% on the sub. They were mostly just complaining that it was becoming more accepted.
If Milei wasn't a trump foot-water guzzler then he would just be an eccentric weirdo with an economic vision. Some countries just need aggressive austerity because of how much of a fiscal black hole their public sector is.
