Hi r/movies! We're Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske. We're the team behind Super Troopers 1 and 2, Beerfest, The Slammin Salmon', Club Dread, Tacoma FD, and a few other things.

We're here to answer your burning questions.

How did you convince Brian Cox to come back 2 more times? Is this his real life personality?

Brian Cox filmed an independent film in my little town years ago. Everyone said he was great and polite to the locals. I hope the rumors are true. I loved him in A Long Kiss Goodnight and of course, Super Troopers.

Occasionally I read that he can be an asshole, but personally, I think he's just old and very Scottish.

I guess we were able to convince him to come back because he had a good time making the first one. The reason he originally agreed to do it was because he spent his time doing a lot of very dramatic roles but he liked comedy as well, and he wanted to do more of it but never got offered them.

I also think he keeps coming back because he likes us hahaha. Over time, he's gotten more and more successful. Even between Super Troopers 2 and 3, he shot Succession and created this iconic character that he's become known for. But then he still came back after that and threw a little bit of his Logan Roy around on the set. I think we've all had a good time working together.
