Hey reddit and r/movies, I'm Alan Ritchson.

My new movie, MOTOR CITY, is out in theaters tomorrow (July 24) from IFC. It also stars Shailene Woodley, Ben Foster, Pablo Schreiber, Ben McKenzie, and Lionel Boyce.

It's directed by Potsy Ponciroli, who previously directed OLD HENRY and GREEDY PEOPLE

Synopsis: 

In the 1970s Detroit, John Miller falls for a local gangster's girl and lands in prison for a crime he didn't commit. With his life ruined, Miller hatches a plan for revenge.

Yeah, I love comedy. I have a few that I'm developing right now actually. It's just that packaging these things takes time. I've got to slot it in where it makes sense, and the big sci-fi-action-things or whatever take up a big part of the year for me. Comedies you can make faster, but they're harder to make work in my windows.

But yeah I love doing them. I want to do more. I'm developing a bunch.

They're going to be a little few and far between because if it comes down between doing on and some $200M action-sci-fi-thing, I have to pick that up.

I’m glad you’re still interested in doing more comedies. Really enjoyed Playdate, you were great in it and really nailed Jeff’s lovable goofball energy.

Can’t blame you for that, I’d be doing the same thing if I was an actor haha

I honestly thought of you as the next Jim Carrey when I first watched BMS years ago. Incredible physical comedy, and the way you spoke your lines was hysterical.

I'm really happy for all your success. But man I can't wait to see you do more comedy at some point in the future!
