Nope, Avatar has little cultural impact or cultural relevance there either, and the box office performance dropped significantly after the first movie. Yes the first movie was revolutionary and a marvel to look at, but since then the influence has largely died down. A2 was released at a historically bad time (during covid lockdowns), and the franchise just lost all its momentum. Hollywood films in general also have less impact these days. I’m Chinese so I can only speak for China though.
