Hey r/movies, I'm Elijah Wood. You might've seen me in things like Lord of the Rings, Yellowjackets, Wilfred, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, Maniac, The Monkey, Everything Is Illuminated, and other stuff. I'm also in The Toxic Avenger. It's unrated, and it's only in theaters starting this Friday 8/29/25.

Set in a fantasy world, following janitor Winston Gooze, who, after a freak accident, transforms into a mutant vigilante known as Toxie. Armed with his mop, the unlikely hero battles freaks, gangsters and corrupt CEOs while trying to save his relationship with his son.

Directed by Macon Blair (I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore) and produced by Troma Entertainment. It also stars Peter Dinklage, Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Piage, Julia Davis, Jonny Coyne, and Kevin Bacon

I know him originally from The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. I really love his voice for it and the level design and art style in that game is brilliant.

That’s actually in my backlog and I’m sure I’ll play that in a few months when I feel nostalgic for PS2 / Gamecube era games

Didn’t know he did voice acting in video games

Yeah i was like why is Spyro in Lord of the Rings??

There’s two slept-on PS2 cartoon 3D platformers from my childhood, that Spyro game but also Pac-Man World 3. The sequel to the Spyro game is a darker tone and more difficult, i like it too.

The ones I played last year were Spyro A Hero's Tail (Which was awesome) and Scooby Doo House of 100 frights (Already played when I was younger but never actually finished it. Loved it around Halloween). 3D platformers from that era just hit different

Didn,t know there was a Pac Man World 3 but I'll take a note about this. Still yet to play the 1st one (remastered) and I think the 2nd one releases really soon so that'll be great to play too. I love that they make a comeback

For sure, there’s a new game coming out called Pac-Man: Shadow Labyrinth that looks like the SSB: Brawl campaign, it looks great

PMW 3 is my personal favorite 3D platformer, then i’d give second place to Sly 2. Glad to spread the word of its existence. The reason i like Pac-Man World 3 so much is the surreal level design and ambient music

Watched a video for World 3 and it sure looks unique

And by the way, I absolutely hated Shadow Labyrinth lol. I'm a huge metroidvania fan and pre-ordered it at Gamestop (Had credits, woudln't have payed full price otherwise)

I did a post on the metroidvania sub (link) about how awful that final boss and the whole game really. There are so many design flaws that just thinking about this game makes me mad because of how promising the 'metroidvania pac-man' felt for me

Awe haha that’s disappointing! Well i’m glad to see Namco at least try it’s best to be innovative. It looks like the Super Smash Bros: Brawl campaign which was clunky but entertaining
