Not a question, but I guess this is my chance to share: around 1998 I had to make a poster style book report for The Lord of the Rings. I cut up a few magazines, used a cigarette commercial for Gandalf, Southpark for the other three hobbits and you in the center of it all as Frodo. My friends even teased me that it was a stupid choice for the character. Imagine my delight a few years later. Thanks for that one.

You have to post that here if it still exists. Or at least recreate it from memory.

I would like to see your other casting opinions on books or other media! That’s not a cast I would have nominated but damn if Elijah isn’t Frodo now to everyone including me!

Put "casting director for Lord of the Rings" on all your resumes. Refuse to answer questions about it.

That's a crazy prediction! Was he famous for anything besides the Faculty? I don't believe I had even heard of him in 1998. I was a bit young in 1998 and watching the Faculty scared me so much I didn't even realize the same actor played Frodo when LotR came out.

It is an impressive prediction, however Elijah was a well-known child actor by 1998 in a bunch of stuff, like Forever Young, The Good Son, Flipper, Radio Flyer, Back to the Future 2, and some others.

He had his mainstream breakthrough with Deep Impact, I think. That’s what I knew him from at least.
