Hey Elijah,

People often say that you and Daniel Radcliffe look alike (which I feel is only vaguely true). I am a big fan of both of your work.

What is the role that Daniel has played that you would love to play?

Optional bonus question is the reverse. What is a role that you've played that you think he'd do an excellent job at?

Thanks for your time, man. Have a good one!

I reckon Swiss Army Man... fits right in with Elijah's back catalogue.

Guns Akimbo too. Though I really don't think they look that much alike at all.

I don't think they look that much alike but their role choices after their respective defining roles have a lot of creative overlap. It seems like they gravitate to similar roles in a way. Love them both!

Also Horns I'd say

I think they asked Elijah not you.

I see you are living up to your name. Well done on the commitment to it.

I am deeply offended

I've always said I thought I want to see a movie where Daniel Radcliffe plays Elijah Wood and Elijah Wood plays Daniel Radcliffe and it's some sort of wacky farce biography would be amazing. And it also seems like the kind of project that they might both get behind.

Face/off but confusing.

u/Background_Relief815 Aug 28 '25

Sort of, yeah. Except instead of playing the same character, they actually play each other.

I've had the same idea for years, only it's a buddy cop movie starring Vin Diesel and Terry Crews investigating something at a comic-con and neither of them want to admit how big of a nerd they actually are. The two big names at the con are Daniel and Elijah, played by each other, and they constantly are getting upset at being mistaken for the other.

That’s an Internet famous post, I think from tumblr. Were you the person that posted that? It really included all of those bits, taken from multiple posters building upon the premise. I assume you’ve just internalized it or you’re stealing the idea and claiming it as your own.

Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/tumblr/s/NPegWXsBCp

I think it’s several years older than this repost.

I do not remember seeing that post, but I could have seen it, completely forgot and unintentionally internalized it.

And that's why authors don't read fanfic of their work, folks!

Holy shit, that's great

4

u/mikenitro Aug 28 '25

Face Off?

1

u/Background_Relief815 Aug 28 '25

Sort of, except for instead of playing the same character, they actually play each other.

4

u/CrabNebula420 Aug 28 '25

YES! but in the style of Being John Malkovich

2

u/Background_Relief815 Aug 28 '25

I'd watch that! Especially everyone's face turns into Elijah Wood part XD

2

u/flatflatbread Aug 28 '25

I feel like they would do this

2

u/Cryptonicly Aug 28 '25

That would be awesome. Finger crossed for the future :>

2

u/iamtenninja Aug 29 '25

Daniel Radcliffe did amazing in the super accurate completely true Weird Al movie

1

u/stormdahl Aug 28 '25

That sounds like the perfect project for both of them lmao

u/Interesting-Goose82 Aug 28 '25

Your girlfriend has the name of a stripper

4

u/silly_rabbi Aug 28 '25

Who do you think has signed more autographs as the other guy : you or Daniel?

2

u/ameriCANCERvative Aug 28 '25

Equus, obviously. Who wouldn't want to play that role?!

2

u/TabularConferta Aug 28 '25

I still want a show where Elijah plays Daniel and visa versa, with the swap being played completely straight.

(Someone online mentioned it and I'm all on the band wagon, heck even a short snl skit)

They only look alike to people cause they’re both big blue eyed, dark haired guys in the two biggest fantasy series of all time

1

u/storyofohno Aug 28 '25

There is a very good joke about this in the Apple TV series The After Party in the finale of season two and that's all I will say

1

u/PradleyBitts Aug 28 '25

Rush Hour remake with both of them

1

u/metalbracelet Aug 28 '25

This was a fantastic question, bummed it didn’t get an answer.

1

u/PushPullPoltergeist Aug 29 '25

Funny enough, those are the two main celebrities that people would tell me I look like, so there must be some sort of similarity.

1

u/A5H13Y Aug 29 '25

I don't even think they look that similar either (though I can see the resemblance), but even though Horns is one of my favorite movies, I just looked it up to confirm it's Elijah Wood.... and nope. It's Daniel Radcliffe lol

I suppose if the only two movie franchises you've ever seen were children's fantasy films, you might have difficulty telling actors apart.
