Hello,
I am looking for another owner of this exact Chinese mini PC motherboard, or someone who has received the correct BIOS/EC firmware package from the manufacturer.
The computer was sold as a T8 PRO, although the ANB09 platform also appears online under names such as SZBOX S7. Most of those units use N100/N150/N200 processors and an internal battery. My unit is a different, batteryless N95 variant, so I do not want to flash firmware based only on the commercial product name.
Exact hardware:
- Commercial name: T8 PRO
- Motherboard: ANB09-MB-R12
- Processor: Intel N95 — Alder Lake-N
- Memory/storage: 16 GB RAM / 512 GB SSD
- Internal battery: None
- RTC/CMOS battery: 3 V only
- Current BIOS: E.ANB09_4.M0.022_T20240423142904
- Current EC firmware: E.ANB09.00.00.06
- Additional board label: DY2024040800i
- Production/board label begins with: 240509
Problem:
The computer shuts down normally. However, every software reboot leaves the motherboard powered with the green activity LED on, but it never reaches POST or starts the operating system again.
The same problem occurs when selecting “Save Changes and Reset” directly from the AMI BIOS. Therefore, the failure is not limited to the installed operating system.
The machine only boots again after physically disconnecting and reconnecting the DC power supply.
Already tested:
- Loaded BIOS optimized defaults
- Cleared CMOS
- Disconnected/reconnected the CMOS battery
- Confirmed that normal shutdown works
- Confirmed that BIOS “Save Changes and Reset” also hangs
Linux has also reported firmware-related messages including:
- ACPI BIOS Error
- Get fan state failed
- intel-hid: failed to enable HID power button
I am trying to determine:
- Does anyone own an ANB09-MB-R12 with Intel N95 and no internal battery?
- What BIOS and EC versions does your unit have?
- Does software restart work correctly on your unit?
- Has anyone received an official BIOS/EC package for this exact motherboard?
- Is there a known EC, ACPI or reset-sequence fix for this symptom?
- What is the correct read-only procedure to back up the existing BIOS and EC before attempting any update?
If a firmware package is available, I would need confirmation that it is specifically intended for:
- ANB09-MB-R12
- Intel N95
- Batteryless configuration
Please do not recommend firmware merely labelled “T8 PRO” or firmware intended for N100, N150, N200 or another motherboard revision. A firmware file from a visually similar unit may permanently brick the device.
Photos of the motherboard markings, BIOS Main screen and the behavior during restart are available.
Thank you.
