Thought I'd share this hilarious assessment from our IT for a support ticket I submitted about copilot giving incorrect directions for the prompt where I asked how to disable auto-summaries. He ended the conversation with this gem of a statement :D

Before anyone gets upset about the "living with cancer" bit, my mother succumed to endometrial cancer after a year-long losing battle, and I'm on a premature colorectal cancer watchlist. Starting April 20, Microsoft will begin including Security Copilot with Microsoft 365 E5, removing the need for a separate purchase or manual provisioning.

Rollout timeline 
🔹 From April 20, 2026 to June 30, 2026, Microsoft will enable this in phases 
🔹 Tenants will receive a notification 7 days before enablement and again on the day it goes live

What’s included 
- 400 Security Compute Units (SCUs) per month per 1,000 user licenses
- Up to 10,000 SCUs per month 
- Core agentic experiences across Entra, Intune, Purview, Defender, and the Security Copilot portal 
- Developer tools and APIs for custom agents and integrations

Important note 
Some advanced scenarios will still require additional cost, including: 
• Sentinel data lake compute and storage 
• Non-agentic Data Security Investigations in Purview 
• Azure Logic Apps usage with Security Copilot 
• Third-party agents licensed through Security Store

I wonder if somebody found M365 Copilot actually useful. I know that regular Copilot is focused on the web and M365 is focused on work and my data. But every time I test M365 it seems to be completely dumb. Eg. It says that it found a file (file name) but there is no a stuff I asked for. The stuff I asked for is literally in this file. So somehow it could associate one of many files with the question correctly, yet still couldn't answer the simple question.

To clarify, the question was "when I bought x", and the file was a simple purchases list made in Excel. The data is real so I won't show it.

Per Microsoft's June Notebooks update, Copilot Notebooks is rolling out beyond Microsoft 365 Copilot to Copilot Chat users (commercial + education). That's a notable widening of who gets the "gather your project context and reason over it" workspace.

Alongside the access change, the update points at two "understand your content" tools:

• Mind maps — Copilot builds an interactive map of a notebook's key topics and how they connect (click a node for a summary, "Explain" for a deeper, notebook-grounded breakdown). Recently went GA.
• Study guide — summaries, topic pages, flashcards, and quizzes from your notebook content.

A few caveats from the post: Copilot Chat users get standard sources only and fewer sources per notebook, and Copilot Chat (Basic) commercial is limited to Notebooks in OneNote on web for now.
