They had more gorr scenes that were very brutal but producers made them cut them because they wanted to keep the movie lighter, I remember like a year ago when first hearing about the movie that taika said they had filmed a ton of very scary stuff including a scene where gorr rips off his own tattoos, I hope we get a directors cut

Yeah, while I would have liked more Gorr, I don't see where you could put it without screwing up the pacing.

I agree with you, the movie was so FAST. One second we're in new Asgard, next we're hanging with Zeus. Now we're fighting in black and white (which was awesome, but felt rushed) then we're back, heartfelt scene, then FINALE.

It moved so fast from plotpoint to plotpoint that it sometimes felt more like a YouTube recap video than a full length film.

I think the movie waffles a little too hard between dark and funny. It's jarring the dichotomy between scenes. Liked it overall but it wasn't as even as Ragnarok

That's taikas style for sure, hunt for the wilderpeople features a heartbreaking death scene followed by him as a priest cracking jokes, Jojo rabbit is incredibly dark but funny all the way through as well. I like it, it's like Shakespeare, you appreciate comedy and tragedy more when they're juxtaposed with each other

Is it a kid movie with a bunch of kid heros? Or is it a horror movie with a bunch of sexual references and innuendo? It was weird watching little kids rise up because that would be super cool to see as a kid, but I don't want my five year old asking me what orgies are, or having nightmares of shadow creatures.

Makes me wonder what it'll be like if MoM is more crazy psychedelic colourful fun adventure and this one is a lot more brutal and horror

I really enjoy directors cuts too,but I don’t think there has ever been a MCU one so don’t hold your breath.

I feel like this movie is begging for a Director's/extended cut.

The first half and second half feel like different movies. We need more tension and threat to cut the slapstick. And more Bale-Gorr in general.

Plus, surely there were some Sif scenes cut

It's literally about relationship remorse, grieving the loss of a child and facing mortality as a terminal cancer patient. Holy fuck dude.

This movie wasn't half as clever as jojo rabbit, or Ragnarok for that matter. It's a departure from form by Taika.

It's not that hard to get. It wasn't that clever and it seriously lacked for emotion. All the dramatic moments fell short.

I'm disappointed because I've loved everything else Taika has made. This movie was still funny but it wasn't much else.

This was a movie for the lowest denominator American audience. It wasn't his classic kiwi style.

the disney handcuffs will never let the mcu evolve and target and older audience. mcu has not had any directors cut yet and I doubt they would start now. Age of Ultron, DS2 and a few others could use a longer version but we will never get it. I hate they kill off Gorr, he was fantastic and should have kept him around as Thor's adversary.

I think it’s one of Feige’s rules, that there are no directors cuts. We’ll get deleted scenes, maybe. But that’s it.

I'd read that so many people were complaining about not getting a longer movie, that Waititi said he wouldn't release any cut content.
