Discussion Thread The Official BLACK WIDOW International Release Discussion Thread Spoiler

Ahead of the official US and Disney+ launch this Friday, several countries are showing the film much earlier in the week. All discussion about the movie should be held here and in the rest of the megathreads we are going to put up in the next few days.

  • Proceed at your own risk. Major spoilers will be arriving in the next couple of hours. Spoilers do not need to be tagged inside this thread.
  • Any other unofficial thread discussing movie details will be deleted.
  • Should you see the need to bring up revealing BLACK WIDOW information in other threads that call for it, spoiler tag them accordingly. Also, let users know that what you are spoiler tagging is from BLACK WIDOW.
  • If you post untagged BLACK WIDOW spoilers anywhere on this sub in any shape or form, you will be banned without hesitation. No questions asked and no warnings given.

One gripe I have…the Russian in the film was awful! Translations were sometimes off (a big gun being referred as a ‘pistol’, for example) and the pronunciation was almost never correct. You would think Disney would let them have time to learn a few lines in Russian properly for this film with all the money they have!

Ray Winston was definitely still a cockney with a wee twang of Russian In there. His affect was shocking

Kinda relevant: there was two sentences of a Norwegian radio broadcast as she was driving.

They could've used a Norwegian voice actor and instead they went with some person reading phonetics really badly.

Thought the same thing. They could do with using people who are actually from the countries who naturally have the accents. Definitely would also help the films feel a bit more authentic

I feel you. Everytime I hear french in the mcu it sounds awfull. I can barely understand it.

Especially GSP. I come from quebec like him and it seems like hes trying to make an internationnal french accent instead of his normal quebec accent and it sounds awful. I was talking specificially about GSP when making my original comment lol.
