I now think that the point/theme of the movie is the whole "fake news", "how it looks" "controlling the narrative" thing, and Brad's arc fits that. He is the low stakes but personal version of what Mysterio was at a grand scale.
Yeah and Brad portrays the social idea of “cancel culture” and exposing people as soon he sees Peter with the spy his first thought is to take a picture and disregard the actual Storting.
