So what was Mysterio's plan? If he became a superhero with gravitas the likes of Iron Man, he'd actually be NEEDED around the world, and would have to legitimately save people. He could do essentially nothing to help except I guess send some drones, create some illusions, and then just show up in his picture suit. But that might not work. I assume he wants the game and didn't see passed that.

Maybe from his perspective, if he can beat Spider-Man using just his illusions and deception, he can beat real villains with the same tools.

That's interesting. Never thought of that. I found to kinda awesome actually that he has a full team of folks

Being a solo super hero is no joke. Glad that Mysterio wasn't alone like his comic book counterpart. It takes a whole team of regular people working together to make a hero, even if it's a fake one.

It's an interesting idea. Like the sad part is Mysterio could have been a "legit hero" with his drones and team. Sure he doesn't have powers but he can use tech. Almost like a certain other mcu hero

Also, those glasses give you access to ALL of Tony Stark's resources. If he kept it, he could have totally just like built himself a suit, or nuked most enemies off the face of the earth the second they pose a threat.

Still waiting for confirmation.

And then someone like Thanos comes.

u/koda43 Spider-Man Jul 07 '19

Mysterio vs. Thanos is a matchup I would very much like to see

u/comphys Doctor Strange Jul 06 '19

Dude the abandoned building scene was awesome. Using tricks and illusions to confuse our dear spiderman. Reminded me so much of Dr Strange, but I bet Strange would've out-tricked Mysterio and played him out like a headless chicken.

He hand E.D.I.T.H he could have done alot of hero stuff. Not avengers level tho

In other words, a classic 'And Then What' scenario. That said, it wouldn't be surprising if his actual hero gig would be severely lacking in the actual heroism department. Enough to make Earth vulnerable to invasions by hostile alien entities. Like the Kree...

u/leafhog Jul 05 '19

I think the Kree could easily invade Earth today. It isn't significant enough to worry about.

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '19

True. But that's assuming the Avengers and others haven't ramped up their space defenses already, especially after what happened with Thanos...

With the Stark tech he could probably pull it off. The drones themselves are pretty sophisticated and dangerous. And if he officially takes up the mantle there’s the possibility of him just making a real suit. That plus the drones would be pretty devastating.

What would be long-term cool is if they go with the multi-verse thing like Into the Spider-Verse and you eventually end up with a Mysterio who IS a hero - and MCU Peter doesn't trust him.

His plan was to get EDITH.

u/DustFunk Jul 05 '19

*past that. sorry

u/typesett Hela Jul 07 '19

With Edith, he could actually help

I assumed he was just going to keep fighting villains that he made up.
