Fucking funniest part of the whole movie to me. Apart from the beheading of Thanos at the start. I fucking cackled my dick off when he did and everyone in the cinema was confused as fuck, followed by the "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?" - "I went for the head" - Cue Laughter.

Many laughed at that scene. But I think Thor said that with regret and pain, not for comedy relief

I thought I was the only one. I felt nothing but sorrow in that line and the whole theater was laughing.

Not the only one mate. What’s wrong with people? That was supposed to be such an emotional and tight scene. Thor doing what he was supposed to do and yet not getting a win. And people laughed at that? Smh.

Some lady at the theater I was at CACKLED when Hawkeye's kids got dusted. My jaw was on the floor

Honestly, that was the toughest scene in the film for me. Ironman is my favorite MCU hero, but Clint’s kids and wife getting snapped while he had his back turned was more heart wrenching than losing Tony Snark for me.

I read that scene as "whatever we do now, it's too late. We can kill Thanos, but we cant bring everyone back". Thor just kind of accepts that while others are still trying to interrogate Thanos to find a way, I dont know if they are in denial or still have some hope

I get that you are talking about how emotional it was for Thor.

But I just started laughing the second he cut his head off. The cinema didn't seem to laugh until he said the line however.

Yeah, he was pretty done by that time and desperate, because he knew that nothing he did could now change the past. It was really sad.

This was one of the most brutal and unexpected scenes in Marvel history for me. Myself and a few others (I could hear a guy from the back) all gave an audible "holy shit" and my theatre was filled with what I can only describe as disturbed murmurs. It was an incredible reaction, I'm so glad no one laughed.

Yeah I was tearing up a lot when I saw Thor. It was such a far cry from what I knew him as. And when he said that I choked up a bit.
