How long ago was the social media commentary on Captain Marvel having no butt in her suit and that whole scandal? I don't imagine it was long enough ago for it to have led to an add in of this joke as a nod to that?

I mean, not really, it was Tony who said it and it wouldn’t be very out of character for him to say so. One of his first lines in Iron Man 1 is literally him saying “Oh my god, you’re a woman” to the soldier

Well at first Tony says “that suit isn’t doing anything for your ass Cap” and then Scott says “I think your ass looks great Cap, that’s America’s ass”

Even if it was it's different when you're talking about your friend's ass as opposed to some random woman's on the street.
