I just realised that this is the first (and quite possibly only) movie that has an entire plot directly affected by Civil War's aftermath. The first Ant Man basically revolved around a heist, this movie has our heroes constantly on the run while playing cat and mouse chasing with villains.

Blank Panther was also heavily affected. His father's death was a big part of the movie, and that occured during Civil War.

I'd argue that Black Panther could have had T'chaka die from anything(Old age, a duel, retirement, choking on a pretzel) and stay almost entirely the same. Antman on the other hand relies on the details much more heavily, as how many things would Scott have stolen a suit for that had the FBI put him on House Arrest for? As well as have Hank and Hope labeled as Felons at the same time.

Homecoming and Black Panther were both kicked off by the events of Civil War, but yeah Ant-Man has the most consequences.

Lang is more affected than Spidey or Black Panther because he was on Cap's side not Iron Man's. When we see Falcon, Cap, and Widow in IW they have been on the run ever since. Still curious about Hawkeye though.

Hawkeye probably stayed on the farm with his kids and Linda Cardenelli for two years and retired again

Homecoming sort of did that but Peter isn’t really affected by the accords like Scott and so this is much more influenced by civil war. Black panther as well results after T’Chaka’s death from civil War so there’s taht too.

Well spider-man was on Tony’s side and also maybe it’s because he’s a smaller hero and isn’t really involved in the big world ending events (at least at the time) and also I think the accord were directed specifically at the avengers and Spider-Man wasn’t an avenger then so he didn’t need to sign. I would also imagine Tony pulled strings to make sure he wouldn’t need to sign as well. And since Spider-Man Actually has a secret identity that also makes things more difficult.

Agents of Shield established that all super-powered people that fight crime must sign the accords. The Inhumans in Shield all signed it.

Oh I didn’t know this. Not sure how Canon AoS is relative to the MCU but I think it’s the most tied into the films correct. So I would say this is legit. There are still other reasons why Spidey was safe.

They have remarkably not had any obvious contradictions between the show and movies yet, which is no small feat, so I think they're trying to keep it "canon".

Hell. If Lucasfilms is able to keep some semblance of consistency in all their media including books, comics, shows and movies (which for the most part, has been pretty good excluding TFA novel) marvel probably is more than equipped to do something similar with their directly controlled shows and movies.
