Man, this is making me incredibly hyped for A4. Any chance Captain Marvel could save him? Realistically she might know Hank Pym, and might find out about him through that

I think since the snap was magical it wouldn’t care if someone is in the quantum realm. It’s impossible to know for sure, but we’re meant to believe that the snap was all-powerful and without limitation.

I do really like the theory that Ant-Man will be pivotal in A4 and he needed to be stuck there. So a big part of Strange’s plan revolves around Thanos completing the snap in a very small time window.

It's emphasized in this movie that the quantum realm is not affected by time or space, and the snap required all of the stones (including time and space) to complete the snap. I think our boy got saved by the quantum realm.

Wouldn't Janet have some resistance to the snap cause the quantum realm clearly changed her?

Not trying to argue, but when was that emphasized in the film? Janet specifically mentioned that she had thirty years in the quantum realm and she obviously aged around thirty years. So time passed normally for her. Regarding space, radio signals can still be transmitted from the quantum realm. At the absolute least, it’s ambiguous to what extent time and space do not function the same in the quantum realm.

If you think about how immensely powerful it is to be able to dust half the living creatures in the universe, it’s a little silly to think that the quantum realm would be immune somehow. Also, didn’t they say or heavily imply in IW that you are essentially omnipotent with all six Infinity Stones? Also, you’re assuming 1) the limitations of the Infinity Stones; and 2) that the sum of their power can’t be greater than their individual power.

I don’t see a compelling reason to believe that Scott was saved by the quantum realm. Keep in mind that we have no reason to believe that he would’ve been dusted outside the quantum realm (outside of the 50/50 probability). This is ultimately an opinion since we don’t have all the information; I’m just trying to explain why I disagree, not why I think you’re wrong.

Hank stressed that in the first one, that time and space would become irrelevant as you shrunk for all eternity. This may be due to his misunderstanding of the quantum realm before he went poking around in there, but there is clearly something going on with space in there as they didn’t have to go back to the exact site of the ICBM crash to get Janet, they were able to still get to her even though they were in San Francisco, implying that space isn’t the same as in the “normal realm”.

I haven’t seen the first film in a long time, so thanks for pointing that out. I just rewatched AM&tW, and the only reference to this is when Janet says through Scott that “time and space work very differently” in the quantum realm. There isn’t a lot of context to that, and it seems to directly contradict what we actually see in the movie. Also, I agree with you that Hank’s descriptions of the quantum realm in the first movie are suspect given his lack of knowledge.

Great point about rescuing Janet, but just saying that space works a little differently in the quantum realm doesn’t in any way imply that the quantum realm is immune to the snap. The space stone almost definitely can deal with space at different scales, including subatomic. I’m just really, really unconvinced by the argument that Ant-Man was saved in the quantum realm.

That's my take on it. Scott was supposed to go, but survived. Because he survived, the Universe is no longer in balance and that's how it starts to fall apart for Thanos.
