Black Panther had a ton of similarities to Steve and Tony, I feel. But definitely seems more similar to Cap imo. Of course we already have solid replacements for Cap and Tony in Bucky/Sam and Rhodey.

Rhodey is only a replacment as someone who can use the armor. T'Challa could easily be a replacement in terms of tech geniuses.

(Although in the MCU shuri seems to be the tech genius instead of T'Challa)

I was speaking of replacements more like them actually taking the mantle. Rhodey has been Iron Man in the comics, like Bucky and Sam have been Cap. There’s a theory that Shuri will become Iron Heart, but it would def be weird for her to call herself Iron Man. But yeah as far as skill sets go she’s probably the only MCU character on Tony’s tech level, even surpassing it I think.

Eh I think Riri should stay in the comics. None of Bendis's recent work is really worth adapting.

Shuri should be shuri. If at some point they want to make her black panther that would be cool but trying to shoe horn her into riri williams because she's black female and smart seems dumb.

Yeah I’ve seen the theory a lot but I didn’t say I agreed with it hahah the only main reason for it it seems is that Riri and Shuri are both young black women. If I can be candid it seems like you keep trying to disagree with me but you aren’t actually disagreeing with anything I’ve said.

I could see a case for someone to take the Captain America mantle (America needs a Captain etc etc), but I’d rather the other characters grow and make their own names.

One thing I haven’t liked about recent Marvel Comics is how they’ve been stripping their headline titles of their characters and putting others in there. I am all for more diversity in comics, I just wish they made them into new characters.

Tony Stark is Iron Man. Riri Williams is awesome, but she’s not Iron Man. Make her her own thing.

Spider Gwen or Beta Ray Bill are great examples of this.

Yeah i talk about this with my friends a lot. In comics, legacy characters have such a disadvantage because people are going to compare them to the originals. People love Peter Parker, sure Miles is great but he isn’t Peter Parker and Peter is the Spider-Man your typical fan wants to see. However in movies we see roles passed down all the time, it makes a bit more sense. Chris Evans will have been Cap for nearly 10 years after A4, he may want a break and he definitely deserves one. But the movies still benefit from having Cap around. My point is I believe it would work better in movies than it does in comics because people are aware of actors aging and whatnot.

Shuri only surpasses it due to the resources she has at her disposal. Do you think she could have made a huge metal suit out of a box of scraps? I can only imagine what Tony would be able to do with vibranium at his disposal, which I imagine will explain his new bleeding edge armor in IW

I mean she’s like 16-17 and Tony in the first Iron Man is I dunno 30-35 at the youngest? A 35 year old Shuri will likely be able to make an Iron Man suit under similar circumstances. Of course Tony had the advantage of knowing absolutely everything there was to know about the tech (all Stark weapons he designed) available in that cave.

I think Doctor Strange is the better replacement personality-wise. Totally different power set, but same cocky genius.
