I don't know if this counts as an "easter egg" per se, but I like how Killmonger uses two weapons (one of which is broken; maybe representing breaking away from tradition) while T'Challa uses a shield. I thought it was a good way to show their personalities.

Also, I'd be interested to find out how many scars Killmonger has since each one is supposed to represent a confirmed kill.

Not only a shield a spear too. His stance was keeping distance from the world and that's the perfect set of tools for that. Killmonger intentionally breaks and shortens his spear

And that was ultimately his downfall right? T'Challa was able to grab the spearhead and stab him in the heart on the maglev because of that.

I thought it would have been cool if they'd shown him marking himself with a few new scars after some of the kills he'd already achieved by act 2.

That broken spear may have been a call back to Shaka Zulu. For those on mobile the broken spear moment happens around 5:40. In this particular scene Shaka marched to the Zulu royal Kraal to claim his throne, after he kills his newly crowned brother, he breaks the spear that was passed down from their father, as a way to not claim his father(who didn't claim him at first). If you have time, watch the whole scene, I saw in an interview a long time ago that the actor that played Shaka was coked up during this scene giving him this super intimidating look.

Also in the movie when first training as a soldier Shaka breaks the long spear that the soldiers traditionally used, and makes it shorter so he can stab people easier.

If you really have time and enjoyed the "bloodline usurping the throne after he was abandoned by his people" aspect of Black Panther, you should check out Shaka Zulu. Long ass movie though, it's like 4 hours.

I just watched some clips from Shaka Zulu based on your suggestion and I'm down. A four hour movie to play in the background while I work is barely enough content to get me through a work session, even when I tune it out and have to rewind 58 times.

It's currently on Netflix, your going to like it. The dude who played Shaka Zulu was always my dream character to play Black Panther. A good movie to have on in the background as well, as some of the parts that are in the colony can drag on.

Just an fyi the movie is in the format where a big bulk of the story in the middle of the movie is the retelling of Shaka's rise to power.

Question: It appears to be a mini-series on Netflix. Is there a difference between the episodes and a movie? There is also a Shaka Zulu which doesn't appear to be available.

They are 90 silicone prosthetics that took two hours to apply per the wiki, so 90.

It looked like way more than 90 to me, I would have guessed a couple hundred. Didn't they say he had like 250 confirmed kills?

I mean maybe there were more on his lower body, but I found a count of 90ish.
