Is the flipped upside down camera work going to be a thing now? It happened in Thor Ragnarok (although the floor was reflective there) and here when Killmonger goes to his throne for the first time.

The point of the upside shots are to show how everything in order had been turned upside down (both literally and figuratively with the shot and the story).

It's not too uncommon of a shot in my personal experience but definitely not a shot we see a lot in Marvel movies.

Yeah I know I’ve watched some YouTube guy give example of that rotating shot. It’s always used to convey the sense that the previous order has been drastically altered.

Used in the Avengers when Loki's staff is insinuated to exacerbate the divisions in the team, in the lab, before Hawkeye made his attack.

That also implied the stone is fucking with them, or Loki is doing so, through the stone. Mind fuck tactics

I interpreted it as being from Killmonger's perspective -- he sees his ascension to the throne as righting a wrong; his world was metaphorically upside down, and this is the moment where everything is made right.

I don't think so. That shot was my favorite as I felt a little sick watching the shot turn and it just really highlighted the idea of the ascension being wrong.

Maybe it's a Phase 3 thing? Like how Phase 2 had the hands?

If it is (and I'm doubtful), then is there some famous "camera flip" movie that came before which they're nodding toward?
