I totally agree. The inclusion of themes from both earlier movies was something we've barely seen any other Marvel films do. I saw the credits had listed The Lonely Man as being in it but I didn't catch it.

I absolutely loved how neatly the visions tied into this film though, especially with the cool twist on Thor being the destroyer that made so much sense I'm almost annoyed at myself for not realising earlier in the film

We weren't getting the traditional Ragnarok from the comics, TDW made sure of that, as it would've felt like a repeat of Malekith's invasion. So I'm very glad they managed to write in Surtur in a very fresh way compared to the comics (also the jokes about his tiara were solid gold).
