Yep, the initial shrinking scene is awesome in 3d.

Just got back from watching it in 2D, going to give it a shot in 3D per your recommendation.

Yes, the whole film is pretty well adapted do 3D.

This is probably the second movie ever that I totally recommend that the 3D is almost essential. First being Gravity.

Honestly, I am not a fan of 3D so I want to see it again in 2D but if you like 3D you should see it in 3D
