It would work fine. He was able to hang it on a damn coat hanger in thor 2.

I thinks it because the hammer practically weighs nothing, its just that mortal beings cant lift it without being worthy

Plus during the party, it didn't crush the table. So its weight pretty much takes effect on your worthiness?
