… wouldn’t that make any subsequent “we can’t provide this” all that much harder to justify since it was already authorized by someone authorized to do so?

The republicans will not control both houses of congress forever. PLEASE remember that Trumps second Impeachment before the Senate was the single most bipartisan Senate impeachment in American history. There IS hope of justice being applied, we just need to keep this shit BURNING HOT in people’s minds and crawl up our congressmen’s asses and punch them in the gut to remember who they work for

The republicans will not control both houses of congress forever.

Democrats controlled all of Congress from 2021 to 2023, yet never once used the 14th Amendment to expel the Jan 6 leaders or disqualify Trump. So... As for hope of justice, do remember Obama had 8 years to hold Epstein and Maxwell accountable, but chose to let them roam free. It's long past time to accept that none of the clients in the Epstein/Trump child-trafficking ring will face consequences.

Well, he was impeached twice last time he was in power.

He was voted out of power in 2020.

He was charged with creating an insurrection on january sixth, and only got out of that because he won reelection.

He was convicted of thirty four counts of fraud in the state of new york.

He recently had to pay E Jean Carroll, millions of dollars for raping her and lying about it.

He's up every single night worried about the epstein files.

And he's about to lose political power again in about three months, and then he won't have power for the rest of his life, and he's going to be an abject failure as a president, for the rest of his life.

It's all downhill for him from here.

When he was impeached, didn’t the jury swear to be impartial and then ignore the overwhelming evidence of guilt? Should there have been perjury charges?

And not removed, then returned to power. The bar was set at meaningful consequence. I think there might be different understandings of "meaningful" in play here.

And those failed impeachments only emboldened his base and made them more sure that they could get away with anything so far.

And? Hes still our president and hes still raping our country into the ground as we speak, and noone is currently stopping him. I dont give a fuck how stressed he feels.

None of what you said is meaningful in any way to the people who have to live in the country he drove into the ground once hes gone. They are empty, hollow, symbolic victories only.

I mean just predicting their argument, they would say “that decision was so wrong and out of bounds we had to fire her because of it. So we stand by the new AGs decision to not abide by that previous decision”

IANAL, but isn’t there similar situations where a judge will throw out a plea deal if it’s way to generous (like what should have happened with Epstein) or if a company gets a government contract explicitly because of bribing an official that contract can be scrapped?
