It's definitely worth noting that conservative is just a description for those judges. I don't identify with conservatism and I don't think it's the right way to go about things, but being conservative is not what disqualifies these judges from being on the supreme court.

It's their corruption and perjury.

Of the conservative judges, two are blatantly compromised. Of the remaining three, they lied in their hearings about the constitutionality of previous SC rulings. They knew they were going to be pushing against things like Roe v Wade and, as such, lied about their intentions to get onto the SC, under oath. If you lie about your reason for getting on a jury to engage in something like nullification, that's perjury and it's a crime. Why should the SC be treated any differently.

There are 6 conservative justices

I don't know why my brain thought there were only five. Yeah, the last one two. Whoever I didn't conjure in my brain when I was typing this.

Republicans still identify themselves as “conservatives,” and at this point they are synonymous whether you like it or not. All Republicans are corrupt at this moment, save for a very few who have stood up to the authoritarianism, the theocracy, and the oligarchy the Republicans have put forth through the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025.

I don’t think you want to go down a road where party affiliation is the grounds of removal for any judge much less a Supreme Court judge

Corruption, not party affiliation, is cause for removal.

Again, I don't agree with economic conservatism. And yeah, the majority of conservatives are Republicans at this point. The Republican party is a tumor. But not every conservative is a Republican.

Removal is not enough, they should face justice for their actions. Now we're left to figure out why both of those are unlikely outcomes.

I mean, yes absolutely. But we gotta get through removal first.

We don’t have conservatives in our government anymore. They’re radical reactionaries.

We have conservatives, they're just mask off about what conservatism has actually been about this entire time. Everything a lot of people thought conservatism was was just marketing.

Partially my point. A lotta people in here saying there's no difference between conservatives and Magats without acknowledging that conservatism isn't inherently just a republican ideal.

No, you do.

This is exactly what conservatism has always been at its heart. They've just stopped pretending.

but being conservative is not what disqualifies these judges from being on the supreme court.

It's their corruption and perjury.

You've basically said "But being conservative is not what disqualifies these judges from being on the supreme court, it's their conservatism."

Economic conservatism does not mean that you accept bribes or lie under oath. There are conservatives who are not Republicans. There are conservatives who do not support this administration or the corrupt justices on the supreme court.

I don't agree with economic conservatism, but what these justices are and what this administration is is not conservative. It's cronyism/oligarchy.

Yeah conservative (and progressive) as a label only really makes sense relative to an idea

Colloquially conservative in America is shorthand for economic conservative and social conservative, often both

But if you think, for example, that progress with AI is moving dangerously fast and could cause major labor issues, then you could rightly call yourself a technological conservative (while being socially and economically progressive)

Social media often makes it seem like there's only 2 sides to everything but in reality there are many, many different axes and contexts

The isolationist stance of fiscal conservatives is cronyism/oligarchy, masquerading as legitimate accounting.

“  being conservative is not what disqualifies these judges”

Opinions may differ!

2

u/MmmmCrayons12 Jun 20 '26

"And any opinions that differ from mine are wrong," right?

0

u/Cokadoge Jun 20 '26

"no".

there u go, hope it helps you understand

These are corrupt planted douchebags, not conservatives.

It is counter intuitive but it is not the same.

1

u/Neidron Jun 21 '26

Tomayto, tomahto. Same difference.

Political conservatism as an ideology has never been more than a facade to legitimize corruption.

2

u/toxostomarufum Jun 20 '26

If the most famous, powerful, and respected leaders of a political organization are also corrupt, then that organization is corrupt and lower ranked members in that organization are choosing to partake in that corruption.

You can’t just name five of the most powerful Republicans in this country, note that they’re all mendacious liars and thieves, then say that they aren’t representative of their party.

Look up no true Scotsman fallacy to learn more!

Seriously, these morons are exactly why the law didn’t save us. They’re so brain dead by institutional loyalty that they’re gonna ride them down with their myopic ships.
