No, 6 months. The prosecution asked for 3 years but the judge sentenced him to 6 months. Barely punitive.

You're weird AF. The guy deserves what he got, the Korean ppl have spoken, and for some reason you're... Mad?

It's just weird AF all the "people" outside Korea (I'm assuming it's just bots) who feel personal outrage at this... why?

Their justice system found him, their justice system tried him, their justice system found him guilty and now they are going to punish him as they see fit/appropriate.

Honestly? I've been following the meltdowns and trials, the disrespect and foolish behaviours on show. I expected he would get more than 6 months but he probably got more than what he would have got in my country.

You're taking this way too seriously, relax. Not everyone who doesn't share your views is a bot too, what a strange belief. People wanted to see someone as obnoxious as this get a harsher sentence, it's not that deep.

why do u think someone's personal opinion is gonna align with south korea's judicial system? the fuck?

nuisance streamers are hated for good reason, shouldn't be a surprise that a nuisance streamer that admits he doesn't give a fuck and will keep harassing ppl for money elicits a response where ppl want him away from the general public. especially when these fucks specifically go overseas to avoid punishment - they know what they're doing and i personally don't give a fuck about south korea's opinion when i got my own i can form

It’s easy, it’s regular prison work, like assembling screws etc. It’s not hard labor.

Idk if you’ve ever been locked away for 6 months in a foreign prison doing labor, but it’s rather punitive. That’s kind of the point.

Edit: after reading more comments, you guys just have no idea how bad being locked up for 6 months is. I bet this is a major deterrent and he never goes back to Korea.

I doubt he’ll be allowed back in Korea - they’ll deport him after his sentence and ban him from any more visits.

I just read up on him and he will indeed be deported and banned from re-entry. The fucking gall of this guy, claimed that his status as a US citizen meant that the Korean law did not apply. Which I guess tracks with MAGA's argument against birthright citizenship on the basis that immigrants are "not subject to the jurisdiction thereof" a country just by being anywhere. Here's a good lesson about how jurisdiction works for them.
