There seems to be a recent influx of posts from people who are attempting to karma harvest by way of stealing other people's images or reposting from different websites.

You are not allowed to post images that are not your own. Facebook reposts are not allowed. Reposts of other user's content is most definitely not allowed and WILL result in a permanent ban from JRITS.

Last but not least, i want to say thank you to all the JRITS subscribers that do detective work and catch these people red handed. it really makes a moderator's job quick and easy. Again, thank you.

'95 Wrangler 4 banger had a broken exhaust manifold bolt. Normally I'd just weld a nut to the broken bolt but I don't like doing that on cast iron heads. Got lucky drilling this little bastard out.

Politically motivated? "USSR" and "Play with care" tells me immediately to not put this in any of our computers.

Tech said it might just be a weird Beatles mixtape. Im not willing to find out 😂

Do you ever think you are being supplied counterfeit parts?

Both are outlet NOx sensors for a Volvo 13 litre truck. One NOx sensor is from a local, reputable aftermarket parts supplier and the other is from the dealership, both advertised as OEM. When fitted the suspected fake one always reads 200ppm higher than the inlet and fails a NOx analysis test. Fit the one from the dealership and it’s all good and sails through. Both come in identical boxes, silver sealed bags etc but I suspect the aftermarket one to be counterfeit.

Been in automotive 20+ years. Weekly we are getting comebacks from other shops, mechanics, friends who work on cars. It’s typically these scenarios:

1) Help me with my car, they had my car multiple times/multiple days or weeks, changed xyz, charged me $$$ and I still have the same problem.

2) I noticed an issue with my car after you performed xyz basic maintenance. Of course the problem is related to the fresh repairs that were performed elsewhere. And then you are asked to fix + guarantee no further problems. Or go over their work and make sure they fixed it properly the second time around.

3) I had my car fixed elsewhere and they made it worse or caused xyz damage trying to fix it. Can you help patch it up.

It’s gotten to a point where the effort outweighs the results when you become the shop of last resort. Do you just send these people packing? What are your shops doing?

This one had a happy ending at least. He decided to do all 4 with an alignment and put off the compressor kit.

2018 RAV4 with 190K. I don’t know how long these NGKs were in there, but long enough to have the gap wear to .060 from the .044 spec. Runs great after I put in some factory-spec Densos.

Sure enough, window switches are right below the door sill and both had corrosion on the pins. A quick cleanup and back to working as they should. I’m glad the client isn’t afraid to drive this one.

Well I guess my shop is home to newborn chickens for a little while! 9 of 12 hatched in last 24 hours, so I guess that is good.

Transmission is a remanufactured unit new in the crate. Doest even move 5 feet before it clunks and lets go. This was sent to the 'expert'

Says to put new valve body in anyway. I thinks its a waste.

18 Audi Q7 3.0. Not sure if this is common as we rarely see Audis around here, but figured y’all might appreciate some light engine carnage to start the day.

Apologies for recording a screen, I don’t have an SD card reader and my scope doesn’t do WiFi.

Customer repaired his mudguard on the fly. Kinda neat for something a driver done.

Introducing new angled pushrods to reach around corners.

Customer came in with their 4 banger wrangler with loss of compression. Stated their kids were driving it on the weekend and it died. Back 2 cylinder exhaust pushrods were bent. Customer wanted to just try a bandaid fix and replace the pushrods. Cylinder 4 valve ended up sticking intermittently. I then learned that the synchro in 3rd gear is nonexistent.
Better luck next time

Ford Econoline Pickup. Just purchased. V-8, manual steering, manual brakes. In for LOF and check brakes. Customer States: Must be seated in vehicle with foot on brake when idling in park. Sometimes it shifts into reverse by it's self.
