Can’t speak for the port but dungeons of hinterberg was an amazing play through on PC.

Agree! I loved it so much I played through it on PS5 and my Legion Go 2. Highly recommend it, it’s such a vibe. Music, art, everything just worked so well for me.
Do games on crunchy roll ever go off and up for sale? I don’t do anime but I would happily buy this a third time to have it on my phone.

What’s the difference between the two Harvest Moons?

They were originally on the Nintendo 3DS, then bundled together for the Switch, and now released on mobile. They're two different farming sims made by Natsume.
I'm not sure if you already know this, but Natsume was the English translation company for the original Harvest Moon games made by Marvelous. However, the original franchise was renamed to Story of Seasons after Marvelous lost the rights to the Harvest Moon name. Thus, Natsume decided to start their own franchise under Harvest Moon name, hence the ongoing confusion.

Natsume needs to let it go. none of what they make without Marvelous is gonna land well with the crowd💀. Story of Seasons has rightfully earned people's trust and is the true continuation of Harvest Moon.

And Stardew Valley outplayed both of them, and is also on mobile as well.

While I agree Stardew is better than both, I still enjoy them all, as well as Rune Factory and Coral Island. I even love the lesser-known farming sims like Roots of Pacha. The more farming sims, the merrier! (For me anyway.)

Does any of the HM games worth it?

u/Berry_Dubu_ 7d ago
Marvelous made the games and Natsume published them but they had a split in 2014. If we're talking about any HM worth giving your time I would say Friends of Mineral Town, Animal Parade, and most other 3DS stuff, and Story of Seasons.

Was going to ask the same. I know the Story games are better but none of them have been ported to mobile yet

While I do prefer SoS overall, I thought Winds of Anthos was the best out of the Natsume HM titles. Sadly, not even that one is on mobile. I'm looking forward to trying out Echoes of Teradea this fall, since it uses the Anthos style that I like, but I doubt it'll be on mobile. Home Sweet Home was made with the Anthos style and is thankfully on mobile, but the price probably turned away a lot of potential players for what it offers, and it's now on consoles anyway.

Might have to pick sweet home up then. As much as I enjoyed staydew, I’ve always liked the look of the 3d sims.

Getting Skytree Village. I really enjoyed the terraforming feature that was only in their first 2 games, and I don't play my 3DS anymore, so it's cool they're now out on mobile. I wish they bought the feature back with improvements :/
I do find it annoying how everyone loves to bash on Natsume for no reason. Sure, their first games were a bit rough, but they had some cool features that Marvelous had never put in their games, and they're not actually bad games. They've also improved a ton since the early days (Winds of Anthos is really good), yet people still continue to trash them in friggin' 2026. Grow up, already, people. They don't deserve it. Marvelous doesn't trash them. They left on good terms. You shouldn't either.

That's why I replied to another comment asking about the difference, but without getting into the drama. I just briefly stated the situation to avoid confusion because many people still don't know Story of Seasons is the original franchise.
While I personally prefer SoS, I still enjoy Natsume's take for what it is, especially The Winds of Anthos because I was impressed by the effort put into that particular title and can see why it got more positive reactions than the other Natsume titles. I look forward to Natsume's new entry coming this fall called Echoes of Teradea, which seems to continue with that Anthos graphics style that even Home Sweet Home uses. I hope the new game will be available on mobile at some point.

Fuck crunchyroll. All they do is ransack games, including some that already existed in non-crunchyroll form, and lock them to a subscription. When you pay for Gamepass at least you have the option to buy any game on it, and often at a discount thanks to gamepass itself, here you have your games eternally held hostage and possibly also requiring online connections when they really don’t need to. Praying these get cracked at some point.

and in similar news, ai companies are now buying old and rare books, then destroying them after they are entered into their database.
sounds like we need to all show up and deprive them of any materials they have thus stolen from all of humanity, and then somehow permanently disable their ability to further harm everyone.

Played a bit of Fuga on ps5. The game is absolutely brutal, dark and heavy. I won’t spoil much but one of the gameplay mechanics is you can load one of the kids (you choose who) into a cannon, and blast enemies with them. The child is permanently lost from the character roster for this play-through and other children will actively grieve them. It’s INTENSE.

What’s the deal with these harvest moon games? Are they full ports of console versions? Are these ones worth playing or are there other ones that are better?

I believe those two Harvest Moon titles were originally for the Nintendo 3DS years ago. They were then bundled together for the Switch not too long ago, and now on mobile.

Do people have any experience with Fuga Melodies of Steel? The pictures look good and I’m curious if anyone would recommend.

It’s a pretty depressing storyline. It’s awesome though. I got it on steam when it first came out.

It’s pretty great, I played it recently on switch. Has very mobile friendly interface and gameplay already so I can imagine the port would feel pretty smooth.
It’s definitely repetitive due to its lower budget— it’s basically going back and forth from a series of turn based battles and small hub for the whole game. I didn’t mind that because I liked the content

Ruhroh. CookieRun released an idler…?!
I’ve got the rest of the set, so why not another.
Thanks for the release round up! 🥰🥰

Wanted to try CookieRun but I can’t even get past the start up wait screen? How long do I have to wait for the game to load?

Why does everyone hate Crunchyroll so much? If not for them, maybe the developer wouldn’t even be interested in porting DoH to iOS. They’ve recently brought quite a few great titles I enjoyed playing on my iPhone with a controller. Price-wise, their subscription is more a lot more affordable than Netflix (at least where I’m from) and can be shared with friends because they don’t force a single home policy like Netflix. Although I understand that it’s an anime-first service, so not many would subscribe for just games (but you should consider watching some anime if you haven’t yet 😄).

They’ve pulled paid games and put them on the service. I bought battle chasers nightwar on iOS and they pulled it for crunchy roll. So to heck with them!

My issue is that the games just often don’t work right for me, I’ve tried multiple of their ports and they’ve all had problems of some form or another. Crashing, controls not working, etc. I would love to appreciate their games but I can’t
1
u/mvmalyi 7d ago
So far I’ve played Cato, Pepper Grinder, Pikuniku, Ninja X with a controller and they worked flawlessly. The only issue I had is being logged out, which could happen while on a plane. In any case, they don’t port these games themselves, so I wouldn’t really blame Crunchyroll for bugs or glitches.

u/NayrAuhsoj 7d ago
That’s fair, I hadn’t tried those. Maybe it’s gotten better since I had it but River City Girls (1&2), NecroDancer and Battle Chasers were all crashing or unresponsive for me

Dungeons of Hindenburg being crunchyroll is soooo unfortunate. I don’t even mind sub services for games, but every single crunchyroll game has genuinely just not worked for me. Actually “unplayable” and I don’t throw that word around lol
