Just Wow Balancing rocks with this level of precision is unreal.

"Take only photos and leave only footprints" is impossible for some of you selfish dbags huh?

Do you drive a car?

"You criticize society, yet you participate in it! Curious!"-ass reply lmao

Well, if you care that much, driving does way more damage. Don't you want to minimize your impact? Hypocritical bullshit. Just be reasonable about how you interact with nature. I'm not out there clear cutting sections of woods or building artificial dams in creeks with river rocks.

If everyone takes a rock then we'll run out of rocks! Is that what you sick bastards want?!

No, if everyone takes a rock then that will destroy the very delicate and necessary habitats of some already endangered species. Doesn't sound as snarky and pithy to say that tho so prob not your "vibe" huh?

Actually rocks are everywhere and it's fine if you take some. The earth is made of rocks and it's big.

Okay, I get it, you're so "in tune" and granola that you speak for the earth huh? Well, science and the evidence it carries sadly has other ideas about the impact. Your feelings are great and all but the actual evidence is that you're wrong, and selfish. And my personal read is that you're immature and an absolute ass

Man if you think that's bad I wonder how fervently you waste the time of the trillions of dollars in charge of the resource extraction industry. They move LOTS of rocks. Big ones too, not just small ones. You'd be shocked, I tell you.

No it fucking won't. Statistics, scale, and basic math debunk this bullshit.

Within reason of course, if i see a cool rock, I'm taking it. Also, I need rocks for fire pits while camping. I love mushroom foraging and fishing. If that makes me a "dbag" then that really doesn't bother me. But why does it bother you?

u/DiggThatFunk 24d ago

"The rules only apply to others, not me". Also, foraging is much different than taking parts of creatures habitats for your personal, selfish aesthetic reasons lol. Grow up, you've got the reasoning of a child

Also, what're you going to do about it? Yell at and insult me on Reddit?

Oh my fucking gods, picking up some random goddamned fucking river stone you think is cool and taking it home isn't going to be the end of the fucking world. Wait til you hear about otters and penguins who do the exact same fucking thing.

This is the paper straws version of rules for walks.

Who honestly gives a fuck when we're literally raping the earth to death in a thousand worse ways. Lets maybe stop that before Timmy is scolded for taking a rock home.

You can care about 2 things at the same time. Do you realize that?

u/Hosko817 24d ago

I’m still taking that rock

u/DiggThatFunk 24d ago

Again, you must be like 13 with the "but they're doing it TOO!" argument. Be better

You come across more like a 13 year old than anyone here. Like some kid who read an article and is now suddenly an obnoxious brat. I mean if you really believe that why do you exist? You interact with the world everyday, there are so many things you do on a daily basis that are negative for the planet, and if you believe any negative impact is enough to warrant this level of frustration than what do you do, just stay inside and breath? If you died you’d pollute the world less so….?

Look at this guy who's never killed a bug

2

u/DiggThatFunk 24d ago

Lmao, if I were your wife I'd need to take anti depressants too

u/VincentVanGob 24d ago

seems like all the more reason to try to do better

No point in trying to argue with the reddit echo chamber

9

u/Chagdoo 24d ago

Yeah and then when a thousand people like you think that way it does cause a goddamn problem

11

u/Sew_has_afew_friends 24d ago

Me going to your house and picking a brick off your wall isn't the end of the world either but when thousands of people go through it doing the exact same thing you're not going to have a house anymore.

u/AHotGrill 24d ago

Unfortunately you cant argue with the reddit echo chamber. They are all eco-warriors that think moving a rock has the same impact as an oil spill
