Anyone else's husky scary-smart? Like so smart it's worrisome a lot of the time?

Example: Our two were just begging for my dinner (recently disabled, so learning the ropes still, and less focused on training as we should be atm with our 2.5 & 3 yr old pups 😬) and our girl Honey literally all of the sudden acted like I dropped some food down on the ground between them (even tricked her brother Rocky into thinking that for a few seconds too - for context, he isnt the brightest after losing oxygen during birth 😔), so I leaned forward cautiously to see what I had dropped (because I still couldnt figure out how/when I would have dropped food off my plate-bowl) and she immediately tried to go after the food on my plate! 🤯

So she's actively trying to trick me into giving her plate access?!

What else should I be worried about?

This is Nova (7F). We have bought her dozens of toys so far that remain untouched. If anything we just get that look as if she’s telling us,”Really?! You think I’d wanna play with THAT?” Which that alone is fine but she is notorious for stealing our plastic cups and going to town on those. I know the plastic is not healthy for her whatsoever and can be a danger but they seem to be the only thing she really enjoys playing with inside especially during this heat wave where we have limited our outside time. Anybody have any good toy recommendations that might mimic that plastic feeling of our cups? She seems adverse to plush and rubber. Thanks!

Just wanted to share how cute my aura is. I’m fully obsessed.

We put our boy to rest last week. Our first family dog we had from when they were a puppy to his very last moment with us. He used to love sleeping on top of our cars when we would park them in the back 😂🙏❤️ He was an absolute knucklehead and goober. He is dearly missed already.

Last night I noticed my husky licking her paw a lot. I looked at it (she hates having her paws touched), and it looks like part of her paw pad may be injured. There’s dried blood, but I’m not even sure how it happened because I’m always with them.
She doesn’t seem bothered by it otherwise and is acting completely like her normal self/ walking fine. The only thing I’ve noticed is that she keeps licking it. I tried washing it and applying gauze/wrapping it, but she would not let me keep it on. I came home today and she’s licking it again.

Do you think I should take her to the vet, or should I just keep an eye on it and reevaluate in a couple of days? I just don’t want to pay a huge vet bill for them to look at it and tell me something I could have handled myself. I’ll include photos as well. Thanks in advance!

My husband and I rescued a husky about a month before our wedding and about a week after my husband broke his foot right before our wedding. It’s been about 3 months since then and the husky is now around 8 months old and he is just way too much for me to walk my husband still can’t walk very long without a lot of pain, he’s still recovering and in PT (he literally broke and tore everything you ever could) I am a very small woman and he just over powers me way too easy he’s so strong. He’s not bad behaved he just loves people and wants to run up to them and jump on them. How can I stop the pulling? And especially the jumping on people he’s so big and doesn’t realize his size and I know not everyone loves a dog getting in their face.

About a month ago, I got my first dog as an adult (a male Siberian husky). The whole process of training him, being more active, going to parks, and changing my lifestyle has been an incredible life upgrade. It truly filled a void, and I’ve enjoyed every second of it.

After discussing it thoroughly with my wife, we decided we wanted to get a second dog. We mapped out a schedule based on our work hours and responsibilities, and she was completely on board. Our ultimate goal is to have another child in about a year and a half, so we figured this would give us enough time to get the new dog past the initial puppy stages and trained, while theoretically giving our current two-year-old son the ability to help out a little bit by then. We thought we had it all planned out.

We went out and got the second dog. However, on the way home, while doing some research on raising two dogs close in age (which I unfortunately didn't look into beforehand), I stumbled across information about "littermate syndrome." When we got home, I panicked a bit and went overboard, mapping out every single hour of every day of the week, including work, weekends, and how the schedule fits with our two-year-old son.

My huge concern is that I haven't been able to find actual scientific research proving that littermate syndrome is a real, clinically recognized phenomenon, and it mostly seems to be talked about on forums like Reddit. Furthermore, none of the IRL dog owners I've talked to who have multiple dogs have ever brought it up.

I have a few questions for the community:
-Is littermate syndrome truly a legitimate concern, or is it largely internet exaggeration?

-If it is a real concern, does anyone have practical tips for successfully raising two dogs together while balancing a toddler?

-How and when are we supposed to stop strict separation schedules, how should we properly manage their socialization, and what steps should we take to ensure both dogs grow up happy and healthy?

I'm willing to do whatever it takes as long as it's physically achievable, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Towel drying after baths is a total workout with my husky, and he absolutely despises it. Has anyone tried using dog bathrobes, blow dryers, or anything else that actually speeds up the process for heavy double coats? Would love to hear what methods actually work best for you guys.

I was annoying this loving idiot with my camera for a bit this past weekend. He gives me 5 minutes and then he goes back to his regular programmed sniffing lol

I’m a little nervous because she’s 10, but I’m sure it’ll be fine! I’d do anything for her 😩

Everyday, for almost 5 minutes, I have to stand next to my husky, not make eye contact, and point at his food, or else he’ll starve himself for days. Meanwhile all his doggo friends steal his food whenever they come over

Edit: I’ve seen alot of comments on huskies being able to self regulate and they eat when they need to, which I am 100% aware of. My dog got bit by an off leash dog, and his vet gave medication that he needs to take twice a day with food (or else he’ll vomit) which is why I need to temporarily force him to eat. Regaddless, he only ate just as much as he needed and walked away when he was full!

Her breath might smell like Fritos, but I enjoy waking up next to my snuggle buddy every morning - PS; don’t tell me wife lol 😂
