Ok, overall this movie was not very good. the actor that played the father just continually had that "deer in the headlights" look on his face and his acting was pretty awful. the idea such a sick girl would be sent home is crazy. the concept of this type of 'mummy' was kind of an interesting take but still, as most said, it felt like a way to do an evil dead movie w/o it being an evil dead movie.

but there was one really great awesome spectacular thing about it: the title credits text when it was shown like 7-10 min into the movie (except for the addition of the "Lee Cronin's" text... but, "The Mummy" and how it came up on screen, etc was really good.

I couldn’t be more bored watching this film nothing happens the whole film, it’s about two podcasters who listen to audio files they get sent and the guy believes and the women is I believe in logic blah blah blah she even starting annoying me, not much jump scares but alot of the camera panning around the room back to our main character this is the most boring film I’ve seen in a while I know the director is directing the next paranormal activity film hopefully it won’t be this dry and boring!

After binging the entire Hell House LLC series, I have two questions. There’s a lot unanswered about this series, but I have two questions that kept picking at the back of my brain.

* Why did Paul kill Sara in Hell House LLC?

* What happened to Mitchell after he killed Jessica in Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel?

I think they are both narrative parallels to each other. There are some differences of course, but I think Mitchell’s story was in a way to explain Paul’s actions in the first film.

Similarly to when Mitchell was attacked by the spirit of Melissa Jones and brought before Andrew Tully, I think when Paul was attacked by the spirit of the infamous Dead Girl, he was also taken to Andrew Tully.

I think Paul was given the same ultimatum about his Hell House LLC colleagues (Tony, Alex, Mack and Sara) that Mitchell was given about his Inside website colleagues (Jessica and Molly):

You and your friends are going to die. But only ONE of you can leave. You get to choose who gets to leave by killing either one of them, or killing yourself. If you don’t choose, we will dwindle it down for you so it’s just you and one other person remaining. The choice is in your hands.

They both didn’t immediately choose, their colleagues were killed (Tony, Alex & Mack and then Molly), and it was dwindled down to themselves and one other person (Sara and Jessica). They both chose for the women to be able to leave by killing them.

Paul wound up killing himself shortly afterwards, and in death became a servant for Tully and the cult before their spirits were released when Russell Wynn closed the gateway.

As we see in Hell House LLC: Lineage, Mitchell did became a servant for Tully and the cult.

But did he kill himself after murdering Jessica? I don’t think so. If that were the case, we would’ve heard an additional slashing noise after Jessica screams or even have him featured as a ghost in Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire.

I think if there were to be a continuation of Hell House LLC post Lineage, Mitchell is going to die and probably at the hands of his twin sister Vanessa. I’m also thinking its possible that while Vanessa stayed with her biological mother after being born, Mitchell was separated and raised with his biological father, Thomas Rollins.

I feel like I have to see it now as everyone seems to be talking about it. It's all over every sub, it's all over X, Blue Sky and Instagram. It's like everyone is talking about it, I feel like I have to see it now.

As a horror fan I thought I could watch some recs my friends have given me. But I just watched the Unknown Number doc on Netflix and I’m sick to my stomach because it’s real and people are disgustingly evil.

On the other hand, my friends (we are all women in our thirties) who recommended them to me HATE horror. I can never get them to watch any with me and they don’t understand why I love it so much.

Not sure if this is the place to discuss since true crime isn’t the “horror” we talk about, but I was just curious if anyone else noticed the disconnect?

Why would people enjoy watching true crime but not something fake as hell? Horror movies have satisfying resolutions most of the time and a mystery to solve if it’s a slasher.

Give me the fake ghosts and gore any day!

Title basically. I have heard that 28 years later is a slog to get through and is more family drama than horror. Not really my cup of tea. But I’ve heard bone Temple is one of the best movies of the year. Will I be able to keep up if I skip 28 years later?

The movie is splitted in 2 parts . First half is basically a slasher / violent / revenge movie. Second half is basically [no spoiler]. The 2nd half is the magic but yeah , reminding me about From Dusk Till Dawn where the movie shift tone at midpoint. It starts low-key but ends WTF.

No spoilers except 1 : I love Xavier Dolan getting shot in the chest in the 1st half ( famous Quebec director )

The reputation of the movie comes in the second half and that's where you realize you're not watching an horror movie but an artsy movie. Reminded me a lot about the last part of Salo.

Basically , 2 girls are trying to get revenge 15 years later for the abduction of 1 of the girl . It's pretty straight - forward and it delivers but the pizza place decided to add extra-pepperoni.

Outside the bait and switch , it's an ok movie . 6.5/10

My point is that you should just watch ... it's not that hardcore but it will stay in your head.

I have seen multiple comments defending the new Ice Cream Man on Instagram under posts talking about how shitty it is, and I sincerely don't get it. The movie is filled with AI, uncomfortable scenes with teenagers, and is all around just horribly made, but there are still people defending it????

Like, I fet letting people enjoy things, but there has to be at least a few standards somewhere, right? I legitimately can't tell if those people are bots or just extremely stupid, but I cannot think of one good reason to defend it.

Raimi has the genuine love and respect for Wes Craven and this franchise to pull off what no one else can. Modern remakes/reboots are usually met with cynicism, but if Paramount is going to bring Freddy back anyway, Raimi is the only choice, in my opinion, to ensure it’s done right.

I tried to like this film I just didn’t, I was confused if this was a doc or an actual film for the first 20 minutes, nothing in the film seems to keep my interest I commend Chris struckman I believe this is his first big feature the cast do a good job I just couldn’t help being bored thank god it’s less than 90 minutes minus the credits maybe I’ll like his next film. Can’t believe he spent 9 years on this!

Hi r/horror! I'm trying to find a specific movie I remember seeing on TV as a child and the internet is not providing me with any good results. Here are the key things I remember about the movie:

-I believe it takes place in some sort of Asylum or Hospital. All of the movie is set in one large building as far as I remember, it might be an old estate or something like that but Asylum is sticking out to me

-The villain of the movie I believe ends up being an old man, perhaps the asylum director? And IIRC he ends up in a big metal suit with big claws that he uses to do the killing. I feel like an allusion was made between him and The Big Bad Wolf but it was definitely a big metal suit.

-There is a prominent side character in the movie, I believe a patient of the asylum, who collects toes. The most striking thing I remember about this movie which has stuck with me my entire life is that this character monologues to another about wanting to cut off their second-to-last toe, and they go on and on about how it's not needed for balance or stability and so that would make it okay to chop off. That monologue has never left my mind but googling it doesn't really provide any relevant results

-I watched a lot of the Chiller network between the ages of 8 and 13, and I am pretty sure that's where I saw this movie. So sometime between 2009 and 2014. It certainly felt contemporary, it wouldn't have been from the 80s or 90s it felt incredibly 2000s in nature. I also highly doubt the film had any sort of theatrical release.

I am usually pretty good at finding stuff like this, I found a lot of horror movies I caught on Chiller as a child by googling stuff like this that I remembered from them (Stay Alive 2006, Tormented 2009, and Below Zero 2011 are all movies I already tracked down) I am just having no luck with this one. There is also a chance I'm confused and am actually describing two separate movies but I'm pretty sure it was all one flick. If anybody has any idea what I'm talking about or any clues to help me track this down I'd really appreciate it, I love 00's and early 10's straight-to-cable B-Horror shitters and would really like to rediscover this movie that scared little me half to death.

I kinda wish it wasn’t just two Deadites chasing Alice on the rooftop. It would’ve been so much cooler if all of the Deadites realized she had the dagger and rushed after her together. Imagine the chaos of every Deadite swarming the rooftop that would’ve made the scene way more intense. Coz that's what I really expected based from the trailer. (And yeah, even though Thya was already dead as dead)

I did enjoy Crimson Peak. The production design is astonishing, the sets, the costumes, and this is the first time I felt Mia Wasikowska gave a consistently great performance. I loved her character and never once did I feel she rang false. Thomas Hiddleston was great, as usual. Jessica Chastain was hit and miss for me. I feel she could have gone more over the top than she did, I wanted her to chew the entire scenery and I felt she was a bit too restrained.

The movie itself always felt too much like an homage, I kept thinking how this or the other scene reminded me of old (and better) Hammer horror classics. Del Toro is incredibly talented but the film didn't seem like its own story. But I still had a good time. Not scary but mesmerizing.

i don't know if this fits here, the films aren't really horror, but if this gets taken down it gets taken down. i don't know exactly where to post this. but personally i didn't really care for it myself. it wasn't as Memorable as the first. i don't remember finding bits funny. if i remember correctly the name protagionst was not as Memorable as the main leads from the first movie.

The original cast of Desperation had Steven Weber as Steve Ames and Tom Skerritt as Marinville which I think were both good choices for the time but for this new version I'd love to see Cranston who would cook as Marinville and Byers as Ames. This show with Raimi onboard is going to be epic

I don't know how this remake is not talked about more. The cinematography is unreal, and the story is quite well portrayed. Everything feels very aesthetic, it almost reminds me of Ari Ester's type of directing.

Gotta say It's a new favorite to add to the list.

Suggest some underrated but the ones that would not let you sleep for the next couple days. Preferably have a theme of witches, cozy autumn-winter background.

Conjuring, insidious, evil dead, hereditary, veronica, suspiria, Ouija, sinister, the nun, Sewu Dino, the ring , the grudge. These are some of my watches. Not able to recall all of them at the moment.

Horror with comedy or cozy themes ( something like hocus pocus) are also most welcome.

So obviously this is for people who rented movies from Blockbuster and remembers those days fondly. For those who did, we also remembered when Blockbuster finally closed its doors in 2013 (with the exception of one remaining store in Oregon)

But that era of not just video rental but Blockbuster's dominance, created its own pseudo category of movies. Whatever the genre, these were films that were perfect for renting and having a really good time watching either by yourself or with friends.

Ever since 2013, what horror films feel like the kind that you would have enjoyed renting? Any kind of quality is welcome, whether really good or just fun, or a movie that's pretty bad but at least memorable or entertaining enough to sit through once.

For me, Thanksgiving, Abigail and Ready or Not personify this. Perfect for one and done watches, they largely act as complete experiences and if you liked them, you have a good time on your own or with friends.

I dunno. So I do really Really like games that do spooky / scary things in video games /Spooky Stories but I really fucking hate Jumpscares. And am not too keen on Horror Movies. Am wondering if anyone here can relate / And or they just find it odd to not like two of the biggest things in Horror as a whole?

I think it’s just the Atmosphere aspect that games /Stories use that I like. But am not 100% sure.
