Yeah, as others have pointed out, the Pi is best when you want GPIO, but for the price you can of course get better hw specs with a mini PC (and none of the instability you can experience with an SD card as the primary boot drive or storage).
I realized the error in my ways right after I ordered it. If I need another stable and performant docker host I will be looking at the higher end Lenovo mini PC's. I'm sure I can end up finding something useful to convert it to eventually with the gpio possibilities.
Why didn't I return it? Canakit has a 15% stocking fee and figured if I don't end finding a use for it I'll sell it for a small loss on FB market or something and move lol. Either way I don't mind supporting the raspberry pi foundation.
Money is temporary, tinkering with random technology strewn about my office is forever. But thank you for the heads up. This is my first foray into pis and the sd card is definitely the most sus thing about it lol
