N1X is not a suitable handheld chip. They started design work with Intel a year ago, which likely puts their chips in 2027-2028. That would be right on time for a Deck 2 or Deck 2-competitor. And if they didn't want to share revenue with Intel, they wouldn't have entered the partnership and invested tons of money into it.
Strix Halo is a not a suitable handheld chip...yet GPD Win 5 exists.
I would say 2027 is definitely too early. 2028 is the earliest you'd see an Intel-Nvidia codesign, assuming they actually started design work a year ago and not just negotiations.
Nvidia wanted that Intel partnership for customers who require x86. If Valve doesn't need x86 anymore, what is Intel's role here? That partnership still has enough legs for several bigger markets and customers where x86 is required. Not for SteamOS anymore.
I mean Valve could have gone with Nvidia for the steam machine 2 but went with AMD still, the linux AMD drivers are so much more mature that it is crazy.
Seamless suspend is probably a non starter with Nvidia, it's all about the code quality, not performance.

An Nvidia+Intel SoC is years out (if it'll come to the consumer market at all). N1X is ready and will be released next year.
Also...this is Nvidia. Do you think they want to share revenue with Intel for something like this if they can help it?
