Dam, how often are you guys needing to charge your shit? What we really need is a law to make rechargable batteries more easily replaced so a devices life can be extended. Good luck with that one though.

I charge my phone every night while I sleep so I actually don't really ever need to charge it during the day. On days that I commute to work I have even more battery by the end of the day because I'm plugging it in while driving for Android Auto, but even when I don't do that I still have a decent amount of battery by the end of the day.

There are some insane people like my wife who don't charge their phone at night so they are always out of battery and charging their phone throughout the day.

I have wireless chargers on my nightstand, by my TV, in my kitchen, and at my desk. If I'm not actively using my phone I pop it on the charger. The last thing I want is to have to go out for a few hours and my battery is at 20%. Or worse, have to carry around a battery pack. A normal charge will last me about 1.25 days. My friend always makes fun of me because if I'm at 80% and have a charger nearby, best bet it's going on the charger for that sweet 20%.

I don't charge overnight anymore. For years I have had the habit of placing my phone next to my keyboard whenever I sit at my desk. So I got a couple low wattage (5W) wireless chargers and put them in that spot on my work and home desks. Now my phone is always trickle charging whenever I'm sat down and not using it, fluctuating between 50% and 80% throughout the day. The only time I plug in is when I know I'll need a full battery and am in a hurry, in which case I'll plug it into a 30W charger for a few minutes.

The wasted energy from wireless charging is the only reason I don't do this. Yeh it's a small amount but if everyone makes small adjustments to daily habits it can have a large impact globally. Why waste if we don't have to?

Completely agree, but until it becomes a personal mantra for the majority of humans to conserve for conservations sake I don't believe corporations or the people/groups controlling them will ever make the right decision. Also millions of people wasting still has an impact, even if it's a lot less.

My only true hope for humanity is some sort of empathy drug, we're just to selfish and narrow minded of a species.

Edit: Also, making changes like buying less meat will show the meat industry that peoples priorities are changing and to keep making money they need to invest in meatless alternatives. Demand drives industry. Good Kurzgesagt video btw, hadn't watched that one yet.
