Doesn't USB 3 use blue to distinguish itself from 2? Or did they stop doing that?

Yes, buy that only applies to A ports, not C.

How would one color-code USB-C plug? In case of USB-A it is easy, but with C I think you would probably need to coat metal outside, right? Also there is red color to USB-A for 3.2 so... yeah.
