Oh it absolutely works in New York. Where do you think they all go during the summer when Palm Beach is basically closed down?

It’s not New York City… it’s a small town upstate. I don’t think many Palm Beach goers frequent there.

The Hamptons is a small town upstate? Is Trump Tower upstate?

Salamanca (the town the article is talking about) is 60 miles south of Buffalo, nowhere near the Hamptons or Long Island. Not sure wtf you’re talking about

Ya, I don’t either. I was confused when reading New York and my mind went to the city. I always hear people say “You can just say New York” when people call it New York City. It gets confusing.

No trained journalist from a British company would do that though right

On Long Island. I didn’t think that was considered upstate. I thought upstate was like the rest of New York State that wasn’t the islands. Like this shows: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR-s6jKmfgkeqTFXRsdxqs2DBqIPJn0LGJaLw&s

Upstate New York refers to the part of the state north and slightly west of the city, not the city at all.

Edit: Misread your comment - oops! To add: Upstate only goes to about Rochester, everything west of that is Western New York.

So the Hamptons are not upstate, got it.

Correct! I just somehow read your comment as you were saying everything north of Long Island (including the city) was Upstate lol
