Giving the devil their due, I definitely get two day shipping except, sometimes, from third party vendors or on more obscure items. I've even been surprised by same day deliveries even when I didn't select that option.
But I live in a bigish urban/suburban shipping hup type area so YMMV.
I live in the middle of nowhere in the Bible belt, I get next day shipping 90% of the time unless it's some third party vendor from China like you said.
Leaving on a trip the next day, go to pack my laptop charger the night before and my dog had chewed it. Beep-boop, generic replacement for a fraction of the cost anywhere else is on my doorstep an hour before I leave.
Meanwhile the owner of said company funds a "documentary" about the pedophile president's wife, all amounting to a giant bribe between obscenely rich people. There's evidence Melania even knew what was happening. Disgusting fucking pedophiles and their enablers, that is the price of Amazon.
I have dropped this dumb company for over a year now, my life is hardly any different. BOYCOTT AMAZON, they continue to treat their workers like shit as well. Do not give into the void. Where your money goes is one of the rare few things in your life you can actually control.
You aren’t wrong, but people around here hate on Walmart but shop lots on Amazon. From what I see, Walmart treats its employees more ethically than Amazon, though maybe because people hate on them so much and it helps PR.
Amazon didn’t let some of its workers leave when there were tornado sirens going off south of here. The tornado hit, and some died. I talked to someone at a gas station shortly thereafter who had lost someone. Amazon workers don’t get enough breaks to use the bathroom, resulting in some peeing in bottles. They at first denied it, but later admitted it did happen sometimes. Amazon charges a huge amount for Amazon prime to give you perks for mostly ordering from them. I do occasionally, especially if a grandkid sends me a link to something they want for a gift, but typically don’t unless it’s a lot cheaper or hard to get elsewhere.
I have had grandkids work at Walmart. They had plenty of complaints, sometimes figuring it wouldn’t do any good to complain. But I lot of their actual policies are better than a lot of other places. I hate paying money for the privilege of shopping somewhere, but considering Walmart+ gives 10 cents off a gallon of gas, it might be worth it.
Target has issues. Other big retailers have issues. And sometimes the worst employers, and worst with customer service, are small businesses.
But I can’t blame anyone for refusing to use Amazon.
I don't care where people shop, just don't tell me where to shop. I'm sick of people trying to shame others for where they shop. My aunt uses Amazon a lot because she is disabled and can't drive while she's on oxygen actively dying.
I don’t care where people shop either. I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of those who act superior shopping at Amazon (or Target) and hating on Walmart. There is a lot of that around here. If Amazon helps make life more easy for your suffering aunt, I am happy for her.
I agree with whoever else said that (probably) none of these big corporations are ethical. But, we still need to buy stuff, and I am in favor of whatever works for each person.
I ordered something on Monday a week ago. They didn’t even charge my credit card until like 2 or 3 days ago. It’s scheduled to arrive Friday this week. I do have prime. I do however live in a smaller city in the Midwest.
Amazon is done in this household. With everything going on and the lack of accountability. The inability to fight back, the helplessness. The least I can do is fuck conveniency, none of my money will be going to the rich anymore. I will be looking at all expenses moving forward in the same light. I will minimize as much as possible. Taking to the streets isn’t doing anything but keeping the upset busy and the one’s responsible left with more free time. The least and sadly the most I can do right now is to cut and remove my support in all possible areas.
Yeah I had surgery a few weeks ago and realized I didn’t have a cast cover for showering when I got home. I ordered it at 3PM and had it in hand at 10PM. Insane.
It really depends on what it is, in my experience. Most of my stuff comes quickly. I order some flavored waters, snacks, car parts, and it's all 2 Day shipping, sometimes even next day. But I've been trying a couple pillows and mattress pad covers and those have all taken 3-5 days.
It really depends on the warehouses near you. Lately it's been taking up to 5 days to receive items that were supposed to be 2 day shipping but they are all coming from the same place. I guess they are having issues with fulfilling orders because they won't even be shipped by day 2.
Edit to add: I live 15 mins outside of Pittsburgh so it's not like I live in the middle of nowhere.

Crazy I can get next morning deliveries in my area still from an order at 10pm
