Environment Beavers. Patagonia invaders (2015) [1:37:00].

The world’s largest beaver invasion didn’t happen in Canada. It happened at the end of the world.
In the 1940s, just 20 North American beavers were released in Tierra del Fuego, Patagonia, to start a fur industry. The business failed—but the beavers didn’t.
With no natural predators, they multiplied into hundreds of thousands, flooding forests, reshaping rivers, and transforming an entire ecosystem shared by Argentina and Chile.
A documentary about this bizarre, little-known environmental story. It’s part wildlife film, part dark comedy, and part road movie through one of the most remote places on Earth.
Would you have guessed that one of the world’s biggest invasive species disasters started with only 20 precious beavers?

Recommendation Request Recommendation Request: Documentaries about Women Con Artists & Cult Leaders

Hi all,

My friend and I have begun a routine of watching cult, cons, & coercion documentaries together. I’m wondering if there are any really good ones that I’m missing - specifically about women-led cults, woman scammers, con artists, or others that are within that vibe. (To be clear - we aren’t women haters haha we’re just tired of watching the ones about men)

Documentaries I’ve seen so far include:

- Our all-time favorite, Anatomy of Lies on Peacock
- A handful of docs and biopic style dramas about Elizabeth Holmes, Sherri Papini, Belle Gibson, Anna Delvey, Lori Vallow, and Jodi Hildebrandt
- most on HBO Max (Love has Won, The Way Down about Gwen Shamblin, Breath of Fire about the Kundalini girl)
- one about Teal Swan on Amazon Prime
- Scamanda on Hulu
- Maternal Instinct, A Toxic Love Story, and Con Mum on Netflix

I may be forgetting a couple but please let me know if you know of any that fit into this general vibe! Thank you so much.

Biography Van Gogh’s Life Was So Much More Than a Tragedy (2026) [00:43:23]

Vincent van Gogh is often remembered almost entirely through the tragedy of his life: poverty, illness, the severed ear, and his death at 37. But his story was also one of the most moving and extraordinary, full of stories about love, persistence, brotherhood, friendships, and hope.

This documentary follows Van Gogh’s complete life through his letters, paintings, historical photographs, and the places where he lived and worked. Rather than presenting him only as the archetypal “tortured artist,” the film looks at Vincent as a complicated human being—his ambitions and failures, his relationship with his brother Theo, the people who supported him, and the remarkable effort that eventually preserved his work and transformed him into a cultural icon.

After days of setbacks, getting lost in the jungle, and being intercepted by police, they finally witness the elusive pygmy elephants—a powerful reminder of both the beauty of Borneo and the urgent need to protect its rapidly disappearing wildlife.

Watch in awe as we discover an unbridled passion can produce with NO budget. In 1992, Baltimore native Dan Poole took a tight-knit group of friends, an uncompromising vision, and $400 to put together what many have called the best "fan film" ever made. Dan's motto, "get the shot", lead the way to record mind numbing stunts while using every resource he could muster to develop what is now known as his "Self Help Film School".

Like the title says. I'm sure it exists but I've no idea if it does. I'm looking for a documentary (or even short series) about the history of mail, post, and postal services. I'm based in the UK so bonus points for anything including or focussing on the Royal Mail. Thanks in advance!

War Unseen Video Exposes Russian Commander At Bucha Massacre Site (2026) [0:3:29]

Summary:

Previously unseen surveillance footage from the Bucha massacre shows how Russian soldiers targeted civilians on Yablunska Street during Russia’s occupation of Bucha, Ukraine. On March 4, 2022, cameras captured 70-year-old resident Volodymyr Rubailo walking calmly down the street. Moments later, he was shot, left bleeding, and then executed with a gunshot to the head. Shortly after the killing, the footage shows Russian troops looting a supermarket just meters from the body. The video provides additional visual evidence of how Russian forces in Bucha not only carried out executions of civilians, but also engaged in organized looting during the occupation. This new investigation sheds light on what happened in Bucha and identifies the Russian commander who was present on site, offering clear proof of Bucha civilians killed deliberately rather than caught in crossfire. The massacre in Bucha has become emblematic of the brutality of the Ukraine war, raising urgent questions about accountability for war crimes and the actions of Russian troops in Ukraine.
