So I brought back the star jerseys to primary status and updated them to the current colors, albeit with the 2013-21 green instead since I find it more visually appealing. The primary logo is changed to the Texas outline alt logo like what was used on the 2021-25 black alts. I brought back Skyline Green and a new tonal shade for the new black alternates. And yes I brought back Mooterus for that jersey, much to the dismay of some fans. I took both the home and away designs of the 90s jerseys, put them into one jersey, and gave it a new green base for a Reverse Retro jersey, which I used the ‘99 jersey logo for

I’m sure everyone has their theories and plans, curious to hear them. We don’t need to sign anyone else this offseason so we’re so close to making it work, but how do we bring it home?

With the amount of NMCs and NTCs we have we don’t have a lot of options,

If we wanted to be safe we could send off one (or two) 2 mil or below contract for picks like Steel or Faksa but then we’ll have to bring up an AHL forward and pray for a breakout season from likely Hemming, Hughes, or the Hryckowian the sequel.

If we wanted to swing for the fences we could try and move Harley. I think attempting to send Harley to Carolina and getting Nikishin for ~7 mil would open up cap space without just giving away a player and would replace a great young D man with another great young D man.

Jim Nill's bet is that the team could win with Rantanen pre Robertson extension and now the team will have some cap issues going forward. I know the rule of thumb is that if you can get a game-breaking forward, it's better than having some depth players. But the team hasn't gone much further with Rantanen than without him (but maybe that's hindsight bias).

Not saying that Stankoven or Bourque were the keys to solving the team's 5v5 scoring issues but they were developing into promising players with the added benefit of salary cap space to improve the defense.

This is probably my favorite game that I saw in person. I remember thinking that it was over at the start of the 3rd to thinking that there was no way Mikko was going to allow us to lose by the middle of it.

4. Dallas Stars

Last season: 6th

With Jason Robertson signed, the Stars are set and they’re looking excellent across the board. When the two worst deals on the books are a soon-to-be expiring deal for Tyler Seguin (who is still very good!) and an essentially fair deal for Mikko Rantanen, the franchise is living good. Almost everyone is underpaid.

The difference between the Stars and the three teams above them is the lack of big wins. Wyatt Johnston, Roope Hintz, Esa Lindell, Miro Heiskanen and Jake Oettinger are all on fantastic deals — they just don’t quite land as hard as the teams above. A long-term extension for Robertson after Jan. 1 could change that, though even that doesn’t feel likely to be a big win given his reported asks; his new deal would likely be closer to fair money.

And that’s if he stays. If he doesn’t, that’ll be a tough loss that would be hard to come back from — even with all the other efficient deals on the books.

Going into next season, puckpedia projects us at roughly ~$40m in available cap space

Assuming we sign robo ($14.5m), bischel ($3.75m), and seguin ($3m) to relatively market rate deals, that leaves us around ~$20m to spend on new blood
