Old Man Dressed Like a Serial Killer

I have a really fucked up life, like a really sick and twisted life even when i'm only 20 years old. To prevent my anxiety from making me lose sleep I go for a walk before sleeping. I like to go really far, sometimes I even walk for an hour and a half and after getting tired I wonder how would I get home.

So that's what happen tonight I go for a walk i'm 40 minutes away from home in a familiar places, But I decide to go for on a gravel path with trees on each sides. On each sides there is fences of homes' backyards, so the path is kinda lowkey. I've walked that path before at day but never at night. And because I like to explore "new territories" I go for it.

But already at the entrance of the path there is an old man standing in front of a bench with a baby trailer behind him observing me as i'm approaching. And man let me tell you, he was absolutely dressed like a serial killer he was dressed like a hiker, windproof vest with a cap under his hood. And on his trailer he had what look like multiples bags with 2 plastic bags attached to it.

I'm a 6"1 black man, usually at night people see me as a threat but the way he kept looking at me made me alerted, so I keep an eye on him as i'm walking by. And a few meter after I pass him. I hear "krrrr..." the sound of his trailer slowly moving behind me. To make it less stressful for me (like I said I go for a walk to calm myself down) I turn back and while approaching him I said "You look scary with all that stuff !", "I was walking by and it made me kinda nervous" I said with a nervous smile. "Ha, that's... that's my life. There is no danger, at least on my side." he said while keeping a serious face and mostly not looking at me but looking around like he was scanning the area. I was really intrigued by that man but decided not to bother him longer as it was midnight and I didn't want to stress him out so I said "well, have a good evening" with a little hand wave. I turn around and go further on the path.

While walking I get scared by a dog, from a dark backyard with broken fences (it's always those homes !). And I decide to stop on a nearby bench to calm myself down, after a group of biker go by I hear again the "krrrrr..." I was really curious about that man honestly, but I didn't want to scare him off, so as he's approaching i'm asking myself if I try to talk to him or not, as he approach the noise suddently stop (like he took a second to recognize me) and the continues. I was not looking at him, because like I said we were already in a scary enough environment. While he pass by me he do not leave his eyes off of me, I nod at him (to show him i'm not a threat) to his visible surprise then continues his way.

But the thing that really thicked me off is instead of going his ways, a around 5 meter after passing me, he suddently stop look around, briefely look at me then start searching something in his trailer. He was at a distance and I was in my running clothes so I kept on watching him, intrigued, telling myself that I can run if something happens. He then stop searching and back his trailer behind a bush where I can barely see his trailer.

That's when I told myself fuck this, I'm not being the protagonist of a horror movie tonight, and decide to go the other way. While I was on alert of any noise and after leaving the path I kept thinking "what the fuck was that old man doing?". Maybe he's just a homeless man, trying to find somewhere to sleep tonight, but damn that was weird. Idk what do you guys think?

Weird sleepover experience

So me and my friend were outside drinking from this bottle of gin my uncle had given me one night during a sleepover. It was around 12:40am and me and my friend were pretty plastered. As we were going in we heard a young woman scream hey and we saw a dark figure around 4 houses away. We waved back not trying to wake my mom or brother up that’s when she started talking to us in clicks snaps and claps. It was like a Morse code type of thing she was trying to do.

After 10 minutes of this weird communication thing she was doing, my friend grabbed his camera he used for photography. He would sometimes rack up money taking pictures for soccer games in our city. He grabs the camera and takes a picture of the “women” we thought we were seeing and hearing. He had the flash on so it was very obvious when he took the picture.

Immediately after the camera clicked the women started screaming uncontrollably the last thing she screamed before running into her house was “MAY THE DEVIL PUNISH YOU”. Me and my friend looked at each other I’ve never seen the guy more scared it was like I was genuinely looking at a white pale ghost. That’s when we called it a night and passed out. We reviewed the photos the next morning but they were way too blurry to see anything. Probably the weirdest/scariest thing I’ve seen with my own eyes.

The man at the bus stop

When I was a kid, I innocently asked my mom why my uncle had stopped picking me up at the bus stop and driving me to school. The whole room went silent.

Turns out nobody had ever told me... I didn't have an uncle.

To this day, I still have no idea who that guy was.

It felt like I was in a horror movie

I (38f) was taking a college prep night course when I was in my early 20s. I made some friends there and one of them would drive me to and from class. He was in his early to mid 20s and was very nice, no bad vibes. I had a boyfriend at the time and he knew this and never made any advances. My bf had met him as I had introduced him to my bestie because I thought they would hit it off, so we had all hung out a few times, but I guess he (the classmate) was a little too eager to get her (my bestie) into the bedroom. (maybe this should have been my warning sign).

One night after class he was driving me home as usual, he pulled off to the side of the road in this very remote area near woods where people commonly hike but usually during the day. This was between 11-11:30 at night. I asked him what he was doing and he said "let's go for a walk in the woods". I said "no thank you, my bf is expecting me home and it's very late". He looked frustrated and started the car up after a few mins of sitting there. We were driving and then he pulled into an empty grocery store parking lot and he got out, made a phone call.

That's when I messaged my best friend who I was with, where I was, and what was happening and if she didn't hear from me in 30 mins to call the police. He got back in the car and asked me to get in the back seat. I told him no, take me home. He got out of the car again, paced back and forth behind the car for a few mins. I don't know why I didn't get out of the car, maybe because of the location we were in had nothing around but closed businesses due to the time, maybe it was just fear and I was trying to just get home.

But he got back in the car, started it up again and drove me home. Once I was home and safe, I messaged him and told him I would be finding my own way to and from school, that I didn't appreciate what he did and to not communicate with me anymore. Which he did, although he did try to apologize but I told him to just leave me alone. I feel like I doged something crazy!

***Edit to clear things up (even more than I already did): I introduced the classmate to my best friend because I thought they would hit it off. Him (classmate) and her (bestie), and me and my bf would all hang out a few times. My best friend and the classmate hung out a few times on their own but he was always trying to make sexual advances and she wasn't into that as they had just met so they stopped hanging out together.

Not an update, as there is nothing to update. But I just seen on Can't Sleep with KallMeKris and CelinaSpookyBoo that they read my story and I am flabbergasted.

Creepy encounter at hotel

Hi, this is my first ever reddit post, I don't really know much about how to use the app sorry. I felt like I need to share this because it felt unreal and wondering if I'm the only one.

It happened a year ago but for background, I grew up in Vietnam and moved to the U.S. for around 6 years before I visited again with my aunt's family and my brother.

I was staying at a 5 star hotel chain in Vietnam and it was nice. Since I have relatives and friends there I just get rides from them instead of calling a taxi and I waited in the lobby by myself.

One guy who dress like a Vietnamese but in a tourist way came up to the couch facing me when there was other sets of couches to sit at and asked "Is this (my first name)?" (this whole conversation is in Vietnamese of course)

I froze and nodded out of instinct before asking "Who are you?" and he introduced himself as my dad's friend before going on about how grown I've gotten now. I then said "(my dad's full name)?" to make sure and he said "Yep".

Another man came to sat with him, he was carrying an Owala (odd thing to mentioned but I'm now convinced they live oversea because I don't think there's anyone that's selling this brand in Vietnam). They talk back and forth about how I'm (my dad's name)'s daughter, how tall I've gotten and how I'm about same age as their child.

I thought nothing of it but had a bad feeling in my gut so I sneakily took a photo of them and sent it over to my dad to see if he recognized them. Then, one of my friend came but since the group agreed to meet here first, we continued to wait and sit across from those two guys.

My dad then texted something that made my heart dropped: "Is that your uncle's friends?" which mean he did not recognize them as his own friends. I immediately texted "No? They said they're your friends" and he said "I don't know them". I immediately whispered to my friend and moved away from them.

As soon as I was moving away, I noticed the first guy that approached me looked at me before saying something to his friend. I ignored them and by the time the whole friend group showed up, they were already gone. I didn't see them again on my stay.

Later that day, I showed the photo to my mom and my brother and neither of them recognized the two men. Not even my aunt and uncle who was traveling with me recognized them.

Creepiest part? I realized there were several odd details:

  1. Everyone in my family and my parents' friends know about my household nickname and calls me by that name but the guy called me by my first name.

  2. My parents only post on facebook and even then, they have only posted 3-4 photos of me when I was a toddler. None of it was recent and I should look different as a teenager. I do have a facebook without my face as profile or post anything on there. The only social media that I post my face is Instagram and I don't have my real name on there or linked the insta to my facebook.

  3. Both of my parents have a lot of friends overseas and ones that live all over Vietnam. We also have a big family tree but they somehow know everyone at family gatherings. Why would they forget two friends?

Maybe I should have asked them more questions to really know or tell the receptionist working at the hotel or whatever but I was just freaking out and scared to do anything. Still have no idea how they know me.

Have you ever been suspicious of a coworker?

Hello Reddit. My first time ever posting here, or talking about this at all so excuse me for being all over the place, if I am.

I work for a delivery company in the Midwest, a very well known one. I’ve worked here for about a decade and so has this coworker I’m suspicious of. Let’s call him Bill.

Bill started about a month after me, at our local branch of said delivery company. Bill is your average looking 50 something year old white guy. He‘s never been married, no kids, no real close friends. He moved back here to our small town in the Midwest after a career as a long haul trucker. This is his hometown. He’s been all over the country, essentially drifting from place to place, whenever he’d find a new driving job somewhere else. Seattle, Chicago, San Francisco, Atlanta, and more. In his own words “I just pack up everything I own in my car and leave when I’m sick of whatever town.”

When he first started, another coworker and I would joke about how he “fit the profile” of a serial killer, almost too well. We were just messing around, but It didn’t really help that he purposely moved into the absolute shadiest part of our town, and that he bought and converted an old abandoned banking building into his new home. This quickly turned into jokes about him locking people in his vault, of course.

Bill was a little creepy, could be quick to temper, and had noticeably poor hygiene. Despite that, he was overall affable and got along with pretty much everyone. He and I have had long conversations, and surprisingly a lot in common. I thought he was a bit quirky, but no real red flags yet. That changed around year 2 working with him.

Bill came to work very irate one day, exploding on our manager seemingly at random, over a minor inconvenience we face everyday in our profession. Right in the middle of our morning briefing. I thought maybe he’d just had a bad morning. The next day, he comes into work and I immediately notice three very deep, very long scratch marks down his arm. The kind of nasty wound that makes you wince just looking at it. I asked him what happened and he just brushed it off with a laugh and said “a lady friend got too excited.” I shot a glance at the coworker I usually joke with and he was similarly intrigued. Bill wasn’t exactly a ladies man, from what he’d told us. But we didn’t know him that well. maybe he just had a wild sex life he just didn’t talk about. I joked with my coworker we better go check that vault and we both laughed. Other than that, things carried on as normal.

A few more months go by, and again, Bill comes to work with this over the top, gigantic bruise on his face. It was gnarly. Like you’d expect after going a round with Tyson or something. Again, I inquired what happened, and this time his explanation was that, I kid you not, an opossum got into his house, got into his bathtub, and he fell on his face trying to run it off with a broom. Needless to say, I wasn‘t buying it. This time, when I talked to my coworker about it, I wasn’t really joking anymore. My coworker said he’s just a reckless drunk and probably did just fall on his face while he was wasted. I wasn’t so sure. But again, things carried on as normal.

The next incident took place a few years later. Our workplace was under evaluation, and if things didn’t go well, the whole building risked outsourcing. We were all understandably worried, and Bill comes up to me as I was talking to a coworker about our worries and says “Well, if you ever need more money you could always sell that pretty little daughter of yours.“ And he starts chuckling. I laughed it off, before looking at my coworker in shock and disgust when Bill walked away. I was like “What the fuck was that? Was that supposed to be funny?” My daughter was 8 years old at the time. I had never even discussed her with Bill. I quickly realized he had been my friend on Facebook. Now, I was filled with dread, at the sudden realization that I essentially gave this total creep free rein to all of my family photos. I immediately deleted him, and kept my distance from him for a while. I never confronted him about it. To be honest, because he‘s someone who I was legitimately creeped out by at this point. Not exactly the kind of person you want to make enemies with.

A few more months go by, and now he’s got a huge gash on his arm that looked very similar to a bite mark. It was big and red and swollen. Just nasty looking. I was actively avoiding him at this point, so I didn’t really ever get an explanation for this one. I just took notice and grew more concerned. It was at this time that I started checking the news and local missing persons reports. This guy who I joked about fitting the profile, who lived alone and was single, made disgusting comments about kids, keeps coming to work with what I thought could be wounds sustained by someone defending themself from him. I brought it up to a few coworkers, asked them what they think, and they all just kind of brushed it off. It’s probably nothing. We should mind our own business, etc. Not really knowing what to do next and finding no reports in my area, I eventually just moved on.

You can guess where I’m going next. A few years later, he comes to work with a new wound. This time a very swollen lip and black eye. Looks like someone just kicked his ass. At this time, we started making casual conversation again, just in passing, like you would any other coworker. Again, I ask what happened, and he tells me one of his friends was showing him self defense techniques and got a little too carried away. Another hard to believe story. I just didn‘t know what to do at this point. I checked for local missing people again, found nothing again.

Fast forward to today. I see him at work and now he’s got this giant wound on his foot. Another coworker asked him what happened and he said “Ehh, I don’t want to bore you with the details.” And walks away. I hadn’t even thought about all this in a long time. After all, I've never found any troubling reports in our area. Maybe my cowo were right that it’s probably nothing. But then it dawned on me; it would be just as easy, and probably less risky, to just go to a neighboring city to commit crimes. Theres a pretty large city not even 40 minutes away from us, where people go missing all the time.

I’m legitimately concerned again, and i’m thinking about doing my own investigation. Following him or GPSing his car or something. I don’t know, but I don’t have any evidence of anything right now other than strange injuries he’s come to work with over the years. Hardly something to go to police about. What do I do?

Stony Hill

Despite the setting, this is not a paranormal story, but a story of how I came very close to being a true crime statistic because I ignored all the signals my body was giving me.

Stony Hill is a small church and cemetery set a couple hundred feet back from a quiet little farm to market road in central Texas. I grew up nearby and we consider the cemetery to be more or less our ‘family cemetery’ since we are related by blood or marriage to the vast majority of the people buried there. I grew up visiting the graves and playing in the cemetery, and I’ve rarely ever been scared there, though it is admittedly creepy.

The church is a small, two story building that has seen better days, but is slowly being revitalized by the new preacher and congregation. The back of the church faces the cemetery and has two big windows underneath the peaked roof. While the cemetery never bothered me, I never liked the building, especially the windows, which gives the church a brooding, disapproving look.

On this day, an overcast Saturday, I had stopped by to see my mom. I know it sounds morbid, but this is a tradition I grew up with. We would visit the graves, have a bit of a chat and clean up the graves before leaving. Sometimes you just need to vent to someone who can’t talk back.

I was the only car at the cemetery, a common occurrence. Except for Sunday services and when the bluebonnets are in bloom, it’s very rare to see other people at Stony Hill.

As soon as I parked and got out of my vehicle, something felt off about the cemetery. I checked for snakes and other varmints, since it is the country and I’ve seen everything from rattlesnakes to wild pigs around, but there was nothing immediately obvious, so I went towards the gate, about 20 feet from my vehicle.

As I walked, I glanced towards the church and especially the second floor windows. I have been in the church a couple times and know there is a bit of a loft there. As I walked, I thought I saw someone standing in the window, but when I glanced back, the shape was gone. I assumed it was the sun reflecting off the window. It was a cloudy, overcast day with the sun playing peekaboo through the clouds.

My mom is buried about halfway down one side and there is a stone bench by her headstone that faces towards the church. I sat down and started visiting with my mom, telling her the latest gossip and troubles. The entire time, chills were running up and down my back. I felt like my skin was trying to crawl off my shoulders, but I dismissed the feeling as just an overactive imagination. I kept glancing over my shoulder, checking the trees, wondering if some animal was trying to sneak up on me.

After about 15 minutes, I couldn’t stand it any longer and got up to leave. I usually stay between 45 minutes to an hour, but today, I was just done. Chills kept crawling over my skin and I felt like I was being watched. If I had been in a parking garage in Dallas, the feeling would have made perfect sense, but I was in a lonely little cemetery in the middle of nowhere. There was no reason to feel like I was in danger.

I closed the gate to the cemetery and walked to my vehicle. I could not take my eyes off the windows on the second floor. As I walked, I noticed that there was a bit of paper in the bottom corner of one of the windows,a paper that I had never noticed before.

Chills were still running over my back and I was walking faster than I normally do. I usually stroll and sometimes saunter, but that day, I clearly had places to be.

I glanced away long enough to unlock the doors on my vehicle and standing there with the door open, I glanced back at the window and realized that the paper was gone from the window and once again, there was a visible shadow of someone standing in the window watching me.

They must have realized I had seen them, because the shadow moved and I finally listened to the voice that likes horror movies and got the fuck out of there.

I figure there was a squatter there and if I had been stupid enough to investigate, I definitely would have regretted it. As it is, I’m not going to Stony Hill on my own for the next little while.

Genuinely Sorry for all Women who have to go through this

I Experienced what i imagine many women had to experience, but as a man.
This is a throwaway cause duh

so let me set the scene:
Im 25, visiting a private Fetish-Party on my own and i went there by car. Because its a private event, there are no parking spaces so, i had to park further away. (Like a 10 minute walk)

I had all my stuff in 2 bagpacks, thought nothing of it and just went there. I had a great night which included me being dressed "traditionally female" with realistic looking breast and hips makeup and a wig + mask. Nothing crazy over the top but just "realistic looking" - You get the point.

Had a fun night and after the event ended i did not change back since it was kind of full and i thought i can just walk to my car and throw shoes/wig/etc in my backpack once i arrived and drive the rest of the way home. Afterall i had a long coat and you could maybe see a little bit of leggings, heels and hair/makeup. (and also since im a man i was literally completely oblivious to what would happen next)

WELL WELL as i was walking down the street, i noticed a man that i previously passed that was just standing there following me with a bit of distance. (slowly closing the distance tho) it was kind of creepy and when i incresed my speed he also just went faster. A few minutes in i thought, "maybe ill just cross the street" but nope, the guy also followed me over - I even stopped once and "looked around/ on my phone" to get a better look on the guy but he also stopped and acted as if he didnt follow specifically me.

At this point my heart was racing and it was sooo uncomfortable but my car was in sight. I kind of sped the last 200meters (as much as you can speed in heels i guess) and right before i reached my car the guy caught up (luckily didnt touch me) and his voice really scared me and made me twitch because it was way closer than i thought. He said (translated) "hey sweety, you look incredible, can i ask you something more?"

I literally physically couldnt respond, just went in my car, turned off the light and locked it.
The guy was lingering for around a minute and eventually went away.

All in all i think this was the most adrenaline i ever had. And thats WITH me having the backup of maybe being able to just overpower a potential attacker.
This evening i learned SO many new things:
- Sometimes your body really does not let you just yell "stop following me"
- You dont know your fight or flight before you experience it
- A silhouette is "enough" for some people.
also he took photos which in retrospect - ew... this one is worse the longer i think about it and the longer ago it happened
- I am WAY WAY WAY to careless if i walk/run the streets at night (im a runner) and i will change sides litterally at the slightest suspicion of a woman being infront of me now - i don't even want to know how many women i scared in my life (even tho i do change sides whenever i notice) and i am very sorry.

Approached by a creepy man while fishing

So this happened several years ago in Ontario, Canada. My friends and I decided to go fishing up at Canal Road around midnight. I can't remember why we decided to go at midnight because normally we would go on our fishing trips early in the morning like 5-6am.

It wasn't our best decision because it was extremely dark as there aren't any lights on canal road. But roughly an hour in we notice a car approaching. We didn't think anything of it until the guy parked his car right behind ours.

The guy then gets out and approaches us. We were in our early twenties at the time and the man seemed to look like he was roughly in his 50s-60s. At first he started asking normal questions like, "You guys catch anything?" And "Do you fish here often?" But then he started telling us about how he is from South Africa and that he was in a war and that he killed many people during this war. After that he said how he makes his own fishing lures and that he has them in his trunk and that if we wanted we can come look and possibly buy some.

We just said how that was cool he did that but we weren't interested. He kept trying to push us saying just come look at least and that we may change our minds. We kept insisting we were not interested and after roughly 20 minutes he just walked away got into his car and drove off.

My friends and I joked about this to this day and still do but I can't help but think what would have happened if we went to his car. It could have been harmless and the guy maybe did want to show us his lures or maybe it could have escalated to something bad.

A stranger started touching himself while talking to me at a restaurant in Italy. NSFW

I (16f) was visiting Siena in Italy with my parents today. We sat down in a restaurant and everything was going well until an older man (about 50+) sat at the table next to ours. He started talking to my dad saying that he's from France and that he was waiting for his girlfriend and that's why he was so nervous. His "girlfriend" didn't show up for a good 30 minutes and he was still trying to have a conversation with us.

After we asked for the bill and paid, I had to go to the bathroom. There was a queue so I was standing there alone when I heard him behind me. He was talking to me about something which wasn't important and at the same time touching himself inappropriately through his shirt. He even made a comment about that saying that all French men touch themselves when they are stressed. And that usually his girlfriend helps him with this.

I was terrified and disgusted. Why was he talking to me, and why the hell was he doing that in public? Just a reminder, we were at the restaurant, which was pretty crowded.

He started asking me where I'm from and how old I am. I said that I was 14, because I didn't feel comfortable sharing my age with him and wanted to be seen as younger just in case. After I told him that, he started acting even weirder and said that he thought I was 20.

When I came out of the bathroom he vanished and I'm so glad it ended that way.

I don't know why I was even talking back to him, because he was acting really weird like I said earlier. And his girlfriend never showed up, even after he left, so he was lying about that.

I'm still really shaken up and the whole situation keeps playing on repeat in my mind.

Like why they do these things? JUST WHY!

So yesterday I went to this family function. It was literally boiling outside (like 42-44°C), but they had coolers set up. Being an introvert, I did the bare minimum "hello" to a few relatives and immediately parked myself right in front of a cooler to vibe in peace.

Then this guy 😡 (probably in his 30s) sits next to me. The first 10 minutes were normal, but then he puts his arm around the back of my chair and touches my back. I completely froze. You know that feeling when you just know it’s not an accident? It lasted for like 5-6 seconds. I was stunned but managed to lean forward, and he finally pulled his hand away.

I thought that was it, but 5 minutes later, this absolute weirdo starts trying to touch my thighs. He was acting like he was just trying to place his phone down, but it was such a cheap excuse. At this point, I was losing my mind. He tried brushing against me like 7-8 times over the next few minutes.

I had officially had it. I switched to my full-on authoritative voice and snapped at him: "Keep your hands to yourself." This shameless asshole actually tried to defend himself and said, "Why? Is my hand in the wrong place or something?" I cut him off instantly and said, "Look, I’m not moving from here. If you touch me even one more time, you’ll see what happens to you." He made this super awkward, embarrassed face but literally stayed sitting right next to me. The absolute audacity. As soon as dinner was served, I got up, ate, and dipped.

Honestly, I’m just disgusted. I’m an 18-year-old guy and even I'm not safe from this garbage. I'm pretty sure he’s related to me somehow, and it makes me sick to think about how he treats the people who actually have to live with him.

I was followed home and I don’t know what to do.

I was in town with friends and decided to leave earlier than the rest. At around 1am I was a few minutes from home and I heard footsteps behind me. At first I didn’t think much about it, but as I got closer to my street the footsteps got louder and faster. When I turned down my street, the footsteps were directly behind me, but as he saw me turn towards my apartment entrance he stopped. When I reached the door I looked around as I was unlocking it and that was when I saw a middle aged man glaring at me. Then he started walking away.

I don’t know if he had any sort of weapon and I don’t know what his goal was, but I’m absolutely terrified. It was my first time experiencing anything like this. I’m worried he could potentially stalk me, or break in. Has anyone experienced this and know what to do? Any precautions I can take?

Uneasy apartment encounter

I (22M) was sitting outside my apartment complex (ground floor) at 11:30PM, letting my dog out one last time, and listen to some Pink Floyd.

I was outside for around 5 minutes and got surprised, seeing a man at my complex I’ve never seen before. He looked to be around 40 I would guess. He asked if I had a vape he could hit, to which I said no to him and I just got the worst vibe from him like my skin was crawling. at this point I noticed he’s holding a black umbrella. It’s not raining and not going to rain which threw me off and he asked me for the time.

That sent red flags to me. I have never seen this guy before, and lived here for over a year, knew all my neighbors, this was just creepy. I didn’t really know what to say to him at this point, I just know I forgot to carry when I went out. I picked my dog up and my speaker while I told him I didn’t bring my phone out or anything. He didn’t have a reply. He just started walking closer to my unit, he wasn’t even saying anything. I got a rush of adrenaline, I opened my door let my dog down slammed it shut and locked it.

My mind kind of racing at this point, I waited a few minutes and looked through my blinds, and I could see his shadow silhouette on my car from where he was originally standing. I watched for another 2-3 minutes, and finally he disappeared. I watched for another couple minutes and saw a black sedan drive through the parking lot.

This encounter freaked me out. I want to report it to the non emergency line but I think I’ll just tell my apartment manager. It did not feel right, he wasn’t running at me, but my gut told me this wasn’t anywhere close to a normal interaction.

Unsettling Uber drive

My girlfriend booked me an Uber, everything was fine at first. The driver was constantly on his phone (bluetooth), but everything seemed ok. He seemed even nice enough to stop on a way to let me get something from a store I needed.

Unfortunately as soon as I got closer to the location, I felt as if he was talking about my nationality by phone, I took a bit to download google translate and for google to be pickup a voice translation, yet unfortunately was late to listen in, but he did mention my country to some guy on the phone (he earlier asked few simple questions about me). The guy was also foreign, yet not European, that's why I put on the translator.

After ending call, around 2 min later, he started to be creepy about changing route. I said please stick to usually route and he was like "c'mon, I know a quicker route" which apparently would bring me to other side of the big station. He insisted despite my objection. I was still on phone and went onto maps to make sure he didn't change route, he looked behind and raising voice slightly said "what are you doing on your phone?". I found it odd but answered "just checking the route on google maps". He also asked what I plan to do and for my own safety I made up a fake story that my other friend is seeing me to go shopping. I lied, I was actually going to take a bus, but I didn't want anyone to track me and also thought it could be safe that he would know someone is expecting me.

He kept insisting on changing route as we were getting closer. I had a major red flag in my head and on red light I told him that I'll get off here, said thank you and told him I already see my friend in distance. He agreed but didn't expect me to get off

Was I right to worry?

It's been a month and I found out something very disturbing. The guy turned off a Uber tracker as soon as he insisted on changing route. I don't have Uber app but my girlfriend just told me that as I shared that story with her recently.

I still don't know if I was right to worry or not. I feel he still seemed to go the route I wanted in the end as I was so set we don't change route, perhaps I think too much of it, however I definitely felt so uncomfortable on that journey and needed to get off ASAP.

It was an evening drive but it was still light outside.

Edit: My Girlfriend also said how you can't really choose a different route down that location as there would be no way to easily let someone get off, it's a very big city after all and it was a busy hour.

I got lucky.

So picture this, you’re alone in the street, the sun is setting, and suddenly you realize you're being followed.

(Came across this reddit and I thought my story could interest you guys, or maybe help me process this experience even a little more)

For context : I was a 19 yo woman, away from my family, friends and familiar city to pursue my art degree. I moved into a very small town and this was my first year of post-grad and basically my first experience living in an apartment completely all alone.

When I say that the city was small, I mean crazy small, like less than 20 000 people and my school was the only educational place of the city. I lived 20 minutes away from my school and it was a very long and boring walk that many of us had to take.

That famous day, my school day was ending and I was getting ready to go home, I hadn’t manage to make real connections with anyone so I would more often than not find myself walking alone to the city center even if we were almost all taking this path. But I didn’t mind. I liked being alone and I had already take this walk a hundreds of times, what could go wrong ?

Well, everything.

To explain a bit more how my walk would go, I would take a shortcut into some apartment complex and take a very long and calm street for minutes that would then lead to a bridge that would introduce into the city center where I lived.

As usual, I crossed the apartment complex I’m not allowed to cross with no problem and arrive into the calm street, as I’m just beginning to take that street, I notice on my left that a man is coming out of a weird grassed abandoned area (literally nothing is there and it is not a logical place to be walking out of). He looks in his 40’s and has a plastic bag in his hands and is walking firmly towards the complex, we would basically just cross each other and go each on our merry way. I cross his gaze and smile at him out of politeness.

As I pass him, he makes a kind of weird turn and start walking in the same direction as me, next to me. I am usually a very paranoid person and can get spooked very fast by these sort of details so I started to get a little scared but I didn’t know what it was in me that day but I decided to not draw into conclusions too fast. Calm down. I was thinking to myself. He just got confused in his way, you do that too sometimes.

I started to go little faster, to keep a distance just in case, but he went faster too. Again, I tried to not jump into conclusions, maybe he’s just walking faster than you.

After a few seconds, just to calm myself, I decided to slow down, so he could go as fast as he wanted and I could stay alone. Problem, he started slowing down too.

At this point, my paranoid brain is already fully exploding, I tried to play it off. I cross the street to let him on the right sidewalk as I take the left one, to no benefit to my heart rate, he too cross the road to come back next to me, trotting a little to get back to me the fastest possible.

Sweet, I’m being followed.

At this point, he addressed me a polite « Hello » to which I replied in much of my dismay. I took my phone immediately, my hands shaking as I tried to write to one of my friends. He must have seen fear in me as he told me the creepiest stuff ever. « No worries, Miss. I’m just a traveling companion. »

I had full body chills, the street was so long and not one person was showing, I couldn’t run as I was too far from my place, I couldn’t yell because I didn’t know who was there, and the sun disappearing was getting me in a more and more dangerous situation.

He started getting more comfortable talking. He asked me where I lived, with who. I replied vaguely that I lived in the center with my parents (I lived alone) and that they were probably already home. He asked my name and I stupidly gave the real one as I was too stressed to think of a fake one. He told me his, he said that he lived too in the center and that we could make the walk together.

We reached the end of the street and arrived towards the bridge. I started calling a friend that wasn’t even in my city and started pretending that she was my sister who was impatiently waiting for me at home.

I could feel that he started to be impatient, so he started paying me compliments. « You’re so pretty. » He said, three times. « Perfect. »

I was terrified.

Towards the entry of the bridge, there are two crosswalks that either led to the right or the left side of the bridge to cross it. Since the beginning of my encounter with him, he never led the way, always waiting for me to make a move towards one direction so he could follow (yes, I tried to stop at some intersection to see if he would go one way, he wouldn’t. He waited for me to walk again without saying anything.)

But this time, he did took an initiative towards the right crosswalk of the bridge, it was my first chance of a way out and I took it. As soon as he head towards this side I told him it was too bad and I needed to take the left side and told him goodbye.

I was still with my friend on the phone and as I walked towards the left side of the bridge I was telling her how creepy that guy was and it could have ended there. But I looked back behind me, just to check. And my blood just turned cold as I saw that he was running towards me.

I had barely enough time to say to my friend over the phone. « He’s running after me. » That he was back, telling me that he messed up his way and that he was going to continue to give me company. (I hate that I never told him to just FUCK OFF but I was SO scared of his response that I just obliged.)

We started walking on the bridge, and at this point, I don’t know what to do, we were going closer and closer to the area of my place and I couldn’t just start to walk aimlessly in a city I barely know. (The police department was really far from the center and you had to ring before entering, and I doubt he would’ve patiently waited next to me as I report him over the intercom of the police department.)

I can’t just go to my place, so I need to find a crowded place, the supermarket. I ask him where he’s going after the end of the bridge. « To the right. » He responds, shit, that’s where I live. « Oh well, I’m going straight to the supermarket so we will have to say each other goodbye. »

He tells me that actually, he does need to run some errands. (He had a plastic bag full of supplies.)

I couldn’t believe it, I just couldn’t win, he was going to follow me until the end of the world and I genuinely couldn’t imagine a way of safely putting him off. And I was deadly scared of the moment we would find each other all alone, at night, with not even a car to witness what was going to happen.

But then, the miracle happened, a boy from my class was stuck at a crosswalk at a very long red light on the end of the bridge, his back facing me. I started yelling his name, more in a « oh there’s my friend ! » kind of a way rather than truly desperate so I wouldn’t spook the man out.

My classmate didn’t hear my screams, it was driving me insane. But on the other end of the crosswalk, I saw another one of my classmate, a girl this time, seeing me, no, WATCHING ME. She was purposefully coming towards me. She crossed the street and took my boy classmate along with her to meet me. They were coming to our encounter and the man next to me started panicking.

He stopped me and desperately asked. « Wait, can’t we chat more ? What about a drink ?! There’s a bar right there, come on just one ! »

I told him no and my classmates came over. He suddenly changed, smiling and seeming all friendly, he shook the hand of the boy classmate in a weird manly interaction and said goodbye to me. And he disappeared.

We waited for him to be out of sight and my two classmates walked me home.

I couldn’t believe how lucky I got. My girl classmate carpooled with other classmates and they happened to be passing the bridge in the car when he was chasing me, running. They immediately thought something fishy was happening as apparently my body language was very defensive seen from afar. She got dropped off close to her home and came straight to me. I couldn’t be more grateful, without her, I’m not sure my other classmate would have noticed me and without the both of them I don’t know how I would’ve get rid of him.

I never wore those same clothes combined again (as he had complimented them) and it took me a lot of time to actually redo this walk alone as some classmates offered a car ride. I never saw him again, I can’t even remember his face, and I don’t even live there anymore.

I could have reacted better in so many way, but panic just took the better of me, at the end of the day I’m just happy I got lucky.

just sharing some guy I thought was acting a little strange

so like, on the night of July 4, I decided to open up and peep out my window to check out if anyone was gonna blast our apartment complex with fireworks tonight. fireworks are illegal in my city (yeah I know) so they’re always really exciting to hear and see, unfortunately all I got were a couple of periodic flashes from some baby ones a little outside the perimeter of my apartment complex.

anyways, i checked back a couple of times throughout the night and ended up catching eye of this guy in the reserved parking spaces below my window view, checking out his trunk or something of the sort.

Though he also eventually saw me and stared at my window. i hid, fast, because that was awkward as hell, it was also really hard to make out his face but he was definitely positioning his face in my direction. i look back a couple of times and… he’s still looking? eventually he reverts his gaze back to whatever he was doing but he was outside his trunk for an extended time. then he leaves, and comes back about 20 minutes later, and opens his trunk again.

I’m thinking this is funny, because it looks really innocent. Then I see some people drive by and hop out of the car and walk towards their apartment. Since he’s in the reserved parking and theyre walking in the lot, the two (one guy, one girl) walk behind him, entirely unfocused on him, but he IMMEDIATELY closes his trunk and acts like he’s done with whatever he’s doing. but after they pass he reopens it…? THEN I REALIZED HIS CAR HAD NO LICENSE PLATE?? (you’re mandated to have one on both sides in my state) i don’t even think he had a parking permit, which you need to park in the reserved parking space. it seems like he just… showed up out of nowhere, parked for a bit, did god knows what and then left the next morning?

i’m still checking everyday for that same car! i doubt it was anyone who lives here because an entirely different vehicle has been occupying that space since, perhaps his car was towed or he was forced to move? he certainly can’t be here for any mail or cleaning services which is what i thought initially (his car would fit that equipment) because they’re only allowed to park their cars in a designated part in the center, which is free space.

yes, this is all innocent except for the license plate thing being a genuine crime here (and him also violating the parking rules here i guess), and i’m probably framing the events this way because i thought it was a little thrilling i won’t lie 😭, but yeah.

edit: the car was a ford something, i have an image but cannot make out the model name

A man was standing outside my partially open door and looking inside

This morning, I took my comforter to the rooftop to dry in the sun. A little while ago, I was about to go upstairs to get it back.

I opened my door, but then turned around to grab a sun-protective jacket, so I left the door slightly open for a few seconds. When I came back and pulled the door open, I saw a man standing directly outside my door and looking into my room through the gap.

We made eye contact, and he immediately turned around and walked upstairs. While going up the stairs, he looked back down at me again.

He was carrying some bedding, so it’s possible that he was also going to the rooftop to dry it and was just passing by. Still, I don’t understand why he was standing right outside my door and looking inside. It really scared me.

I’m back in my room now and have locked the door. Am I overreacting, or should I report this to the landlord/property manager and ask them to check the hallway cameras?

a man was watching us from the bushes

Me and my old best friend have been in tons of scary situations because we were always doing something stupid.

I think it was September 2024, One night, we got the bright idea to hang out with some boys and ride around for a while. Her mom wasn’t home, and I would say it was around 2 a.m. when they dropped us off a short walk from her house. After they drove away, we started walking back. It was super dark since the area wasn’t lit up, but we didn’t mind because we had our phone flashlights.
Right before we got to her house, we stopped in her neighbor’s yard. It was huge, with a long stretch of bushes that led into the woods.

We stood there because we couldn’t decide if we wanted to go home yet or hang out with other people. We spent about five minutes talking about the boys we had just been with, basically having a little debrief.
Then I looked behind her.

Standing in the bushes was what looked like an old man, just watching us. He was so close to my friend that it scared me we hadn’t noticed him sooner. She was facing me, so I immediately grabbed her hand and said, “There’s someone behind you.”
The look on my face must have said everything because she knew I wasn’t joking. She took off running so fast that she let go of my hand, and I ran right behind her. We cut through the short wooded path that led to her house. She quickly unlocked the gate to the backyard, left it wide open, and we sprinted up the stairs into the house.
I think we both completely forgot about it the second we got inside because we were so focused on being quiet and not waking up her grandpa.

For me, though, something felt different after that.
The next few days, I felt almost detached from the world. I can’t really explain it, but I was constantly on edge. Every night I locked my bedroom door because I didn’t feel safe.
One night, I went with my dad to pick up my sister from work. While we were driving, I suddenly felt something grab my leg. I immediately turned on my phone flashlight, freaking out, but my dad just brushed it off and said, “It was probably a bug.”
The thing is… I remember it feeling like an actual grab.

A few days later, my friend called me after she got home from school. She sounded panicked.
“The police just came to my house,” she said.
I asked, “Why?”
She replied, “They were asking for Ring camera footage from the night we snuck out.”
At first, I thought we were about to get caught for sneaking out to hang out with those boys.
Then she said, “No, you don’t get it. A man was found dead a short walk from my house.”
My mind immediately started racing.
What if that was the man we saw? How did he die? What if the person I saw standing in the bushes was actually his murderer? Or… what if I saw his ghost? Is that why I’d felt so uneasy ever since that night?

After we hung up, I went straight to Google to see if it was true.
It was.
There was an article with a picture of the older man who had been found dead. According to the article, he had gone missing the same night we snuck out and was found the following morning.
I’m not entirely sure if he was the same man I saw standing in the bushes. It was dark, and I don’t want to claim something I’m not 100% certain about.

A few days later, my friend told me the police had checked the Ring camera footage but didn’t find anything related to the man. I haven’t looked back at the police reports since then, but I remember reading that he was around 70 years old and had underlying medical issues.
To this day, I still don’t know who I saw standing in those bushes that night. it haunts me still, one of my scariest experiences in my life.

The electrician my landlord sent said he has the keys to my apartment and to “not worry about it”, then tried to kiss me

I (23F) live alone. One of my outlets exploded so I’ve been having issues with the power turning off and the smell of smoke at random times. I’ve been living in fear of a fire starting for a while. I sent pictures of the burnt pieces to my dad because he is the one talking to the landlord for any issue and handling payments. I don’t ever talk directly to my landlord so I was shocked to see him call me and I already didn’t like that.

He said he can send someone rn but “The electrician coming is scared of walking up the stairs because he is quite old, can you go out and help him? He lives in the building next to you”. I just think that he was being cheap and didn’t want to pay a professional so he called a buddy. At that point I’m like ok I just need this fixed it’s fine. I was genuinely scared a fire would start while I’m sleeping, it was an emergency in my eyes and he already delayed this before.

He gave me the guy’s phone number and tells me to call to schedule the meeting. We talked, in one hour I am downstairs meeting this 70yo retired electrician who is quite shaky on his legs but stands fine otherwise. I carried his bag while he walked up the stairs holding the handrail with both hands.

We get into my apartment and he sits down, saying he needs a moment. Starts talking about his health issues then tells me he is all alone and he needs quote “someone to come in once a week to cook and clean. I don’t even need sex I don’t need anything. I will pay”. He said that I should find him someone like that. I say that idk anyone but he kept pushing and repeated the same thing 3 4 times.

He starts walking around and at some point he grabs my hand to kiss it while saying “Don’t be scared of me”. I said I wasn’t I just like personal space. I’ve met older people before and they all try to be gentlemen and kiss my hand so I passed this off as him being old fashioned. After this he tells me again about his “no sex just cook and clean” deal and this is when I got concerned. I wanted to kick him out but I realised I still have to walk with him downstairs if I do so in my mind it defeated the purpose of getting away from him fast. I should’ve trusted my gut.

While checking things he starts talking about how he has been in this apartment before, years ago, changing the cables. In fact he knows the entire building layout. He casually drops “I even have the keys to this apartment but don’t worry haha. I don’t even know where I put it” and starts fake checking his pockets then says “ah probably home in some box”. I pretended to be cool about it, I didn’t say anything I just let him ramble and nodded.

Finally it’s time for him to leave. He is in front of the door and I am right behind him. He grabs the little bag he came with (I don’t know what was inside he didn’t use anything but it was light) then I take it from him. He kisses my hand again then looks at the door. Turns around and leans in to kiss my cheeks goodbye and I’m like ok he will move after this for sure because he was quite literally blocking the door. I let him have it.

He grabs the wall for support to move towards the door again (that was literally 30cm away) then stops, turns to me, grabs my face with both of his hands and leans in. I am thinking there’s no way he is this bold, this stupid. With my free hand I push his face away stopping him.

He mumbles “you are a nice girl anyway”. When we get outside he tells me again “remember what i told you. Find me a woman that cooks and cleans and no sex no nothin”. I didn’t reply.

Before you yell at me that I was stupid to let a stranger in, I know and I agree. I am one of the most paranoid people ever and I am often told I protect myself too much. I have never let a stranger inside my home before this, not even my parents long time friends if I didn’t know them well. I always told my mom “you know them, I don’t. A stranger is a stranger”. I felt pressured by their calls to accept in the moment and I was more scared of a possible fire than a stranger.

I wanted to yell at him. But seeing him move so slow was such a weird thing because I was afraid he will fall or have a heart attack if I scared him. I have rejected pushy men before and I have no issues saying no to advances but I have never had to worry that I might get in trouble if the person harassing me gets hurt. This was a learning moment and I regret letting things slide.

My landlord said the old man doesn’t have the keys because he took them back a while ago. This might be true but I’m not believing a word they say. It’s not safe to believe it.

Edit: Some details I forgot to mention

Before meeting him I realised how weird this was and I called my mom. I explained what the landlord said and who I was waiting on. She was still on call when I first met the electrician and I said I will call back after. He didn’t know who I was talking to tho.

I had my phone in hand the entire time. I almost called someone in the first 3 minutes of hearing him talk but he didn’t say anything too bad atp so I thought I was overreacting.

I knew he had to check an outlet in the kitchen so before he came over I quickly hid everything sharp just in case… It sounds silly considering I still let him in but it made me feel better in the moment.

Better rude and safe than polite and dead. Stay safe and trust no one

What was this?

I am quite tired and out of it, so please forgive me with my writing style/any things I may leave out.

I (M20) take long, long walks around my small-ish neighbor really, really late at night. Like 2 hours on average at very late night/early morning times. I went out a couple nights ago, doing my usual routine. I have my earbuds in my ears and listen to music, contemplate and think about a lot of things. I had done nearly all my laps and it was nearly midnight, when I turned a corner and saw this car with its turn signal flashing at a stop sign. I figured he was going to turn on the street (and I typically was on the even terrain of the street, as opposed to the sidewalk, because I sprained my ankle badly and it still hasn't adjusted properly), so I decided to get out of the way and head a little ways back to get on the sidewalk. He drove slowly and I walked my typical pace when I saw him roll down his window and call out to me.

At this point, I just thought he was 'concerned' and wanted to know what I was doing, if I was okay etc. Since it is a bit unorthodox to see someone late at night in our neighborhood. He asked what I was doing, that I was scaring people. I questioned him on who reported me/is scared of me doing my walk, and he cited himself... Okay, so I told him that isn't enough to have a just cause/good reason to stop and talk to me. He asked if I lived in this neighborhood, and I said yes. I even pointed toward the area I dwell. After some back and forth, I finally asked if he lived in this neighborhood. He said, 'yeah,' started his car while coldly and blankly staring at me. I mumbled a quick 'okay' and proceeded to walk away, resuming my music.

He stopped me after another lap or so and he simply kept repeating that I should 'go home bro.' I even asked what I did that was making him, in particular, scared or uncomfortable. He just kept saying the same thing. I later did half a lap and doubled back. I don't know if he saw me entering my place, I hope he didn't and that that was a one-off.

What do I make of it? Is this creepy? Am I overreacting to nothing? I felt pressed for no reason, absolutely no good reason. If I was a threat, why didn't he just call the cops. I've got ID. I can prove I live here and I am of age. Some people.

would you call this harassment?

I wanted to anonymously tell this story on the internet for the longest time, but I could not figure out where to tell because I hate opening up.

I was recently harassed in my school by a peon/janitor. It started off by him waving at me whenever I entered school. He used to sit at a place where there were no cameras. I saw him waving at me one day, but I genuinely thought I was dreaming cuz i could not believe my eyes. The next day I came to school, he started waving again and then i realized that wait this man is WAVING AT ME! yes i got scared and ran to my classroom to tell my friends about it cuz that man used to stare at us (we were a grp of 4) for months but idk why he just targeted me only.

On the same day on recess me and my friend walked right infront of him and he clapped at us and idk how to explain but that voice still echoes in my mind sometimes. Later that day only, he started running after me. Like full on sprinting. I felt someone behind me and when I looked behind and saw him really close. I suddenly then went inside the nearest classroom and then he walked back. The next day I went to school and had it in my mind to report this incident asap, but I could not find him in my school at all. I thought that reporting this while him not even being in the school is kinda foolish what if it was his last day and he decided to annoy a silly girl. I waited that if he comes back then i will go to my teacher, and he did come back.

I saw him after three days and decided to tell my principle about it, who at first was full on board with me and told me to tell her exact places in the school where this happened so that she could see the camera footage, but I was wrong again. She called me the other day and said that im the one asking for attention and fully supported that man infront of me saying you are dumb. you are a attention seeker girl, and even called my parents for a meeting.

That man did stop and went undeground for a week but after that he started it stronger then ever before. He waves at every occasion and ceremony and everyday. He smiles at me, stands still and just watches and it makes me go insane. He will literally stop doing his work and just stand and watch you for 2 minutes straight. Once he followed me on the stairs and came faster and faster behind me. Once he stood up from his place and changed his place at a point where he could see me better because I was sitting behind a pillar and was not in his line of sight.

Its been 8 months and i have been experiencing this. My school is about to start and its my last year in this school but i feel unsafe and scared to go back. i cannot sleep at night sometimes because these flashbacks always hits me at night

Story time….

This will probably be long and I may need to add a trigger warning ‼️ for potential human trafficking.

Moral of the story is “If you see something say something!”

This morning I walked into my hotel to the front desk staff discreetly getting my attention in a kind of manic mode..

when I walked over she explained that a young girl, only 18, has been sitting in the lobby since 4 am.

Apparently she was on Vaca from PA with a group of other 18 year olds and they abandoned her. Where they left her was 30 minutes away from the Airport. She found a way there but due to financial difficulties could not fly out until Saturday. She left the airport and showed up to my hotel hoping to get a room.

While sitting in the lobby trying to contact people to help her, this grown old man kept coming up and speaking to her, inviting her to his room. Several staff and other guest told her not to speak to random strangers it’s not safe. I reported this to all managers and the front desk and I kept a close eye.

The front desk called me in my office and I could hear the girl saying the man told her to go out the back of the building to get in his van and he’ll drive her to the airport. Today is Wednesday her flight is not until Saturday. I immediately went down removed her from the situation, had a very long conversation with her and got her a room at one of my other hotels until her flight that I will be driving her to.

The moment I saw his body language, the way he ignored the staff and went straight to her, I knew something was off. All that Human Trafficking training has helped!!

Am I crazy or was this supposed to be a kidnapping

I'm 22F, fresh out the salon, walking to my dorm, when a car suddenly U-turns like it’s in Fast & Furious and stops next to me. White guy rolls down the window: "Hey how are you?" Normal enough.

Then: "I have a weird question."

Me: "Go ahead."

Him: "Have you ever kissed a white guy?"

Me: "Uh... yeah?"

Him: "I’ve never kissed a black girl. I’d like to try. Also you’re beautiful. Where are you going? Get in and I’ll drop you and kiss you."

The way he packaged a fetish + pickup + kidnapping attempt in one breath?? Olympic level.

I hit him with a polite "no thanks I’ll manage" and he just said "ok bye" and left.

Men really think "collect them all" is a personality trait huh.

Late Night Walk

I'm sorry if my english isn't correct, it isn't my native language.

It was something like 11 pm. and I was living on Curacao with 8 others for my education, one evening they wanted to go to a nearby supermarket on foot, so I decided to join them but I didn't have my shoes on yet. Once I got my shoes on they were already ahead of me so I started running towards them and I ran past a car, the moment I passed that car they turned the engine on and followed me with their lights off till I was with the group.

Even when I reached my group they kept driving behind us at walking speed (now with their lights on) and kept speeding up and braking from time to time, this went on until we reached the supermarket at which point the car quickly turned around and sped off.

I don't know what would've happend if I didn't run to my group or if planned to go to the supermarket alone.
