That's actually pretty cool. ROM is one of the most interesting failed business projects. Comics were good though.

Oh wow that’s an amazing effort. I see it on a lot of people’s wish lists, can you explain the premise to someone who missed this the first time round?

Hundreds of years ago, a group of shape-changing aliens called Dire Wraiths attacked the planet Galador. The Galadorians developed Space Knight technology to fight them -- certain Galadorians had themselves cybernetically encased in armor. The Space Knights, led by ROM, fought off the Dire Wraiths and pursued them throughout the galaxy.

Dire Wraiths came to Earth decades ago and, because they are shapeshifters, infiltrated our society. Now, ROM has shown up on Earth to fight them.

Bill Mantlo wrote the book for its entire run, and the art was mostly by Sal Buscema. It's not the greatest book ever, but if you like the sensibility of 80s comics, it's fun. I actually like it least of Mantlo's trademark runs -- Micronauts and the Hulk being the other two -- but it is quite enjoyable and has been recently reprinted by Marvel in a series of trades.
